Very interesting overview book. Each chapter addresses a different aspect of, or specialisation in, intellectual history; for instance the chapters I particularly enjoyed were on gender & intellectual history, literary criticism and history, and the intersection of social, cultural & intellectual history. I found the book especially helpful in beginning to appreciate the range of intellectual history and also to begin to distinguish between the history of philosophy, intellectual history ...more
