I hope you like incest and pedophilia, if you're planning to read this book. Because there's a lot of both. Apparently Kleopatra's dad considered it normal to marry his sister and then his niece/step-daughter, as well as doing horrible things to young boys. Other than all that, the book is mostly well-written. None of the writing style made me cringe, though it didn't make me feel like telling everyone about the book, either. Kleopatra is an interesting character.

Those who enjoy historical fiction
I gave this book 4 stars because I love historical fiction and this book is very well researched. It is full of little details that I did not know about both the romans and the eyptians.

It tries to be the red tent for Cleopatra.
Easy to read and good for escaping, but I wouldn't say my life is changed because of it.

ok - disappointing because just as it got good it ended to be followed on by a sequel that I have not yet picked up.
