In recent books ( Something from Tiffany's aside) I have found I was losing interest in Melissa Hill's books but this was one published in 2003 and I loved it from start to finish! It is spread over two time frames, starting in the present when Jenny gets news that her past boyfriend will be coming back into her life. It flicks back to a few years previously to explain her relationship with Roan while exploring the relationships of some of her best friends and their family before coming back to...more

Several times, I came close to just giving up on this book, but found another of her books so enjoyable, I had to keep trying. After almost 100 pages, I became intrigued enough to want to know what happens. It was worth sticking it out because it is such a quick read (despite its 500 pages), but could have told as compelling a story in half the number of pages. The story stretches out almost endlessly for about 450 pages, and is then wrapped up - in a bow - quite quickly. If you want fun, mindle...more
Enjoyable. Would give it 3 1/2 stars if I could. By no means a masterpiece, it's very easy reading and kept me interested. I did enjoy Karen's relationship with her Inlaws (if enjoy is the word) - rang very true and had me cringing. Especially Pocahontas and Keanu. Lol.
Jenny was a bit weak as a character, but I didn't mind her. Roan was - ugh - what a sleaze. Karen was the best and most convincing character. I've read a few Melissa Hills, this is my favourite so far.

I never read Melissa Hill before, because I heard different opinions from people about her books, but this one is not too bad.
