Midnight's Master (Midnight #3)
Tall, dark, and formidable, Niol Lapen is the last demon on earth most people would ask for a favor, yet the sexy little reporter who wanders into his club dares to do exactly that. Holly Storm already knows too much about his kind, and Niol has no wish to help her get in deeper over her head. But working alongside her may be the...more
In the first and second book Niol was the almighty level ten demon who seemed to be actually interesting character. Well in this book .. he was still level 10 and was supposed to be " the baddest ass in the town" but basically some random chick took away all his ability to think and act. So his "badass" attitude was ruined by the constant thoughts of...more
I liked the whole series, likes the rather fresh and hilarious story-ideas of the other volumes (a psychotherapist treating supernaturals in trouble: vampires afraid of blood, succubi wanting true love instead of sex, see my reviews for "Hotter After Midnight" and "Midnight Sins"), and although the third volume is based on rather conventinal plot around demons, it is my favorite of the three. I confess I found Niol a rath...more

Being the strongest demon in Atlanta, not many people would move to ask for Niol Lapen's help. Most people know that Niol is a very dangerous man, him being a level ten demon. Niol is surrounded by darkness and commits dark acts without blinking...more

First of all, the main characters, both of them were fucking awesome. Seriously, they were my favorite.
I fell in love with Holly right away, she is exactly the kind of heroine that I love. She's strong and determined. Holly is a reporter and she would do anything to have her story and to actually help people. She's afraid, she's not fearless, and that's wha
Ohhh, he's bad, but obviously he's not totally bad. *wink*
Holly is a reporter and she's investigating about the disappearance of her Other informants.
She knows that in order to find out something she need to go to the source of information: Niol.
Niol doesn't know what to do and think about Holly. He's powerfully attracted to her, but she's Human. On the other hand, she's not afraid of him, even when he's in a bad...more
Hell of a book, all around. While I very much liked the first in the series, and thought the second one was quite good, this one was great. Featuring Niol, the all powerful level 10 demon bad-boy from the two previous books, and intrepid reporter Holly Storm, Midnight's Master is another great paranormal suspense.
When demons are found hacked up, and all signs point to a human killer, reporter Holly Storm can not let the case go. The only things the victims had in common was...more
Niol has been a mysterious character so far. We've received hints here and there about his past, but nothing really definitive and I've been looking forward to reading his story. Eden does not disappoint. Niol is dangerous and feared; yet, he cannot help wanting Holly and, more importantly, wanting to please her. He fights their relationship every step of the way, afraid of what he could become if she's hurt or killed. He's not your typical hero and he will never be "nice", but that's...more

I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. The hero and heroine were amazing. I loved that the hero was initially portrayed as an "evil" demon, too powerful and dangerous to be liked. However as the heroine, Holly, gets involv...more

Holly is a newscaster on the trail of a story that hits very close to home for her. Someone is taking out demons in various violent ways. Demons that are close to Holly. Holly knows the things that go bump in the night aren't children fodders, and they don't stay confined to nightmares, they walk among us daily. And Holly is embroiled with the king of all bad ass demons.

Making someone who has practically been the badass villain in the first two books of a series into the hero of the third is impossible, I thought. Well, Cynthia Eden obviously didn’t because she made me

The worst thing about this story was Holly. She was annoyed me to death - stubborn, bossy, pushy, needy, everything she did jeopardized the people/the Other around her and she brought up her cheating ex one too many times. I'm not stupid so I didn't need the constant reminder of what made Zack so bad in her book *eyeroll*
Along the way Niol starts to feel for Holly what he didn't want to feel again, love which in turn make...more
