I rarely read historical -- but this is coming from J.M. Snyder, one of my favorite authors :).
Under A Confederate Moon
The story starts from Caleb's POV. Caleb is a Confederate soldier AND a werecat (bobcat, to be exact). It's interesting to see how he meets Brance, for the first time. Brance, another bobcat, and a Yankee -- talk about falling in love for the enemy :)
