Which should I do first, save my butt or save the planet? The SimplyRaw Living Foods Detox Manual contains much useful information, but it appears that any local food aspirations may conflict with many of the program's staples. Some recipes incorporate avocados, bananas, and papayas. The modern world that poisons us also includes the technology that permits year-round tropical fruits.

This is a great book. The author has a interesting history leading up to her present diet. She really covers the nuts and bolts of detoxing and adds in many inexpensive ways to do that on a ongoing basis. The Dulse Tapenade recipe is the best.:o) The Fuss-free carrot cake is not.:o( For raw carrot cake refer to Penni Shelton's The Raw Food Cleanse. The SimplyRaw Living Foods Detox Manual is packed with great info and definitely worth the read.
