When Christ Comes
by
Max Lucado
Thoughts of the Second Coming are unsettling. Open graves and occupied clouds. Sins revealed and evil unveiled. Yet, for Max Lucado, the coming of Christ will be "the beginning of the very best." In "When Christ Comes," Lucado shares how Christians can live in hope, confident in his comfort and peaceful in our preparations for His return.

I am not inclined to read much religious literature - or practise much religion, actually - but this proved a pleasant enough read. As the title suggests, it is a book loosely referencing the second coming of Jesus Christ which addresses several points of concern surrounding that momentous event. Before you start thinking this is another work of heavy-handed hell-fire-and-brimstone, let me assure you it isn't. In fact, I'd call it a spiritual lightweight, favoring a rather laidback approach t...more
When Christ Comes Home is about how Christ will arrive in His glory in His Time. In this book Max Lucado addresses our impatience to see Jesus and how awesome His return will be. He also touches on what Christians should be doing in the meantime. At the end of the book, there is a study guide which you can use to reinforce what you are reading.

Was passiert, wenn man stirbt? Wie kann ich wissen, dass ich errettet bin? Warum muss es die Hölle geben? Was passiert, wenn Jesus wiederkommt?

Good study of the end of time when Christ returns to call us Home. Very interesting insight and very encouraging to those of us who know we are going with Him, kinda scary for those who are not.
Consistent with the quality of all his books, Lucado brings encouraging and devotional thoughts on Heaven and the return of Christ.
A very reassuring and empowering look at Christ's return. I learned to look forward eagerly for His return. I learned a great deal by reading this book and it explained some of the misconceptions about the end times. It is a very easy read and good for most everyone.
Lucado is a favorite author. While this is a huge topic with great relevance, the author does not reach his normally lofty height, in my opinion. But the book is definitely worth reading.

I just purchased this on Monday. Cannot wait to start reading. I like Max Lucado books.
Thought provoking for sure.
This book started my journey into the Christian genre. I was going through a very dark and trying time and this book comforted me in so many ways and brought me to the light :) Max Lucado is a very gifted author & his books seem to speak to my soul :)
I never did finish this, I thought it would be based on scripture (which it mainly is) but not by an LDS writer (he's a Baptist minister, i think) so didn't want to read non-gospel info.
The compelling telling of the rapture and beyond, this book answered many questions and helped me feel stronger and (probably more anxious) for the rapture to actually occur.
Basic overview. Nice points.
