This is one of the most extraordinarily beautiful photographic books ever produced. The sheer creativity and resourcefulness of these people as they adorn themselves from what they find around them, purely for the pleasure of it, shows that fashion is not a trivial thing but an essential component of being human, for men as well as women too.

Outrageously beautiful photographs of (mostly) adolescents decorating themselves in the manner of adolescents everywhere- but these tribal kids use what they have to hand, brilliantly. Lovely, lovely photos.
What an amazing, inspiring book. The photography and the use of natural materials as personal decoration especially are stunning.
Amazing photos, but to me they're too mannered. It's like a fashion shoot, but maybe that's the point.
Limited text, but a beautiful collection of photographs.
Celebrates the unique art of the Surma and Mursi tribes of the Omo Valley, on the borders of Ethiopia, Kenya and Sudan.
Really beautiful book with astounding photos of body painting using natural materials of two tribes in Africa. You will want to linger over these pages and then go out to the garden and paint yourself!
SUPER cool book of photographs. Way beyond description. The photographer is amazing, and I can't even imagine the time it took these people to decorate themselves with flora. Beautiful!
