great book...easy read. Compelling story about a very large animal-I think it was a dog and its owner Emily Elizabeth. I did't know a dog could grow so big. Does anyone know what type of dog Clifford is? One problem I have with the story is it never explains how Emily cleans up after him- that would be one big pile of stuff!

When I was a young boy, the thought of having a dog the size of Clifford was exhilarating. So as I read these books I would imagine that he was my dog and that I could ride on his back. I still hope that some day a Clifford-sized dog will come bounding around the corner to greet me at my house...or should I say come bounding over my house to greet me. Now my children love the Clifford series too and I read these to them.

Now this book captured my attention. This dog is not only RED but LARGE! Who has a Red dog anyway? With that said, if Clifford was my dog, I would use him to conquer my enemies. Also, the book didn't note the size of the "dooty" that Clifford would be leaving behind. All that said, a must read.

The story of Clifford when he was just a pup. Clifford is just like my younger twin brothers, he was small for a very short while but he soon grew very large and will remain humongous for the rest of his life.

Oh, how this made me long for a dog like Clifford. there's something so appealing about the notion of riding a dog as though it were an overgrown horse. (It didn't work so well with our dog, Amigo.)

Like all of the Clifford books, it's not the most riveting or original story - but one that my daughter enjoys because 1) she can read it all by herself and 2) it's about a girl and her pet.

I like the Clifford books for ages 2-5 because they teach good life lessons and are not too long. They keep the kids' interest and they're mildly funny too.

A classic. I read this i endless repeat mode for at least a week. She won't listen to any of the spin-offs, but man, the original floats all her boats.

A great book about a runt who ends up growing and growing and growing, a homage to the power of the underdog (literally).

Ah, one of the first books I could actually finish post-baby... Seriously though, a classic.

What child wouldn't love to have an oversized dog? The kids love the humor in this story.

Clifford was a little too red for me. He wasn't one of my favorite characters growing up.

Clifford was alright but the little girl (his owner) annoyed the heck out of me!

Another in Mason's obsession with Clifford. Same old, same old.
