Great book to help first time parents weed through the myriad of baby products and safety claims. Often times CR rates specific brand items within the categories which was great (and they assessed differed price points). Would have liked to see for all categories and then would have rated with 5 stars.
A must-read for parents who want to get a good idea how to save money, what's essential, and what's a waste of money... This book, paired along with a "Baby Bargains" are necessary to see safety ratings, recommended best-buys, and parent feedback!
This was by far the best "baby stuff" book I've read. A few years old, but the information and advice in it was a great place to start. Included some product reviews and what to look for when purchasing or registering for baby gear.
Good overview, though it's best to go to the online site to see the latest ratings of stuff. Interesting how much they don't like sling-carriers. I like slings. I think.
Great resource! I brought it to the store when we tested baby gear and kept it handy when we put together the baby registry.
This is a great book full us useful tips and safety information. I would highly recommend this book not only to new parents, but anybody who is going to spend a lot of time with babies or young children. It's good to know what is and isn't safe, and why. If you're going to have a new baby in the house, please read this book.
Always interesting to see how consumer reports judges the world of retail sales--
Great review of products. Used this while developing my registries.
Good book for basic ratings from consumer reports. I've been using this in conjunction with Baby Bargains to get the best possible reviews. Very helpful.
Not as helpful as my library book, Baby Bargains, but a nice companion. These authors give fewer choices (but often not the cheapest) and cover all recent recalls or safety features. Will be nice to have on hand when registering or shopping for the rugrat.
unfortunately, I should have bought the 9th ed. because this one was not up to date on the latest and greatest. Although, it was very helpful.
