I borrowed this book expecting something of a travel guide through New England, hitting on key landmarks important to Transcendentaists. It ended up bwing so much more than that! All-around fascinating study of Emerson, Thoreau, Margaret Fuller (very interesting woman you've probably never heard of), Bronson Alcott, and their circle, with some Emily Dickinson tossed in. Well worth checking out. Will make you want to visit Amherst, Salem, etc.

This is a brief but useful collage of photographs, maps, and pictures. It moves back and forth in time with ease and provides recent photographs of the Transcendentalists homes and haunts.

Well, it's my book (I'm the author), but if you are interested in New England history, or early American literature, I hope you'll give it a look. Thanks.
