I personally absolutely loved the first book. But i only loved it because it was in wanda's point of view. I think the soul will be in the humans point of view and the seeker will be in the seekers point of view. Which would mean we wont get to see wandas point of view anymore and might not get to see what else happens in her life. I dont know.. if this is true then it will be less appealing for me to read. The host had a great ending though.. I dont think it needs a sequel. I'll still read it,...more

Turns out Stephanie says IF she continues the Host (and she sounds like she has plans) then book 2 would be THE SOUL and book 3 would be THE SEEKER!

From the horse's mouth:

WOO HOO WOO HOO WOO HOOO!!! I Can't wait to get back to these characters! I loved , loved, LOVED the Host and cried and thought and just absolutely adored it. WOO HOO!

Another, possible, maybe, might be written sequel to not only The Host, but to it's possible, maybe, might be written sequel The Soul?

Now, to me, it seems a little pointless to get excited about this.

Now of course I can speak only for myself, but on the off chance Meyer does write The Soul.
And if she then decides that she should write another sequel, making an amazing stand alone book into a trilogy.
What do you think is going to be in it?
That peaceful ending from The Host, will have to b...more

I am not so sure that a sequel would be a good idea for The Host. It is one of my favorite books, and it ended very well. I really hope the sequel doesn't ruin it. Some endings are better left untold.

Also, I have heard that this will be the third book. The second would be called The Soul.

The sequels have to be in wanda's POV I mean, It's like robing you of a friend, to get rid of wanda is like getting rid of the main character in a book (and it is.), if she change's the POV (which is never recommended in a trilogy) It'll just lose a large percent of fan base, personally since it's the host I'll read it. I had such a good experience with the first book, loved wanda. so I'll be pissed to see her out of the book. I didn't feel the ending was a wrap up, it felt more like what she te...more

I loved The Host all together. I cried, I laughed, I smiled, I got angry, disappointed, and any other emotions. The ending was open ended and there were some things that were not answered. I am personally looking forward to the trilogy. Since I love The Host, I will love anything that has to do with it. I am very excited for the Movie that is coming out on March 29. I have the date saved on all of my calenders. Now that said, The Host was a well written book, and I love it, it will remain one of...more

I sort of already raved a bit on the The Soul...
But I'll say it again, if it's taking her this long, it better be good.

I can't wait to see what happens! The end of The Host was unbelievable. Once again I'll be addicted to another trilogy!
i'm just waiting for 'THE SEEKER'to come out because i really enjoyed the first book 'THE HOST'and if 'THE SEEKER'doesn't work for me then i don't know what to expect on the third book 'THE SOULS' which is the plan for the author to have 3 books for that possible 'saga'. If the book comes out, even though i love the host book i just hope she doesn't mess up with the characters and not make it predictable like some books are. x

Why is she making another book for The Host? The Host doen't need a sequel and the way it was written makes it sound like there wasn't going to be a sequel so why did she change her mind? Not that The Host was not good i loved it, it is even on my good-enough-to-reed-again list, but I think that a sequel might ruin it and I definintly hope that the movie is strictly only has what the book has in it.

I really am excited to read the next two books of The Host sequel and see what Meyer comes up with but do all books written in the 21st century have to be series? Can't someone write just one that is amazing, captivating and well-written? Oh well.... I'll still enjoy reading the sequels because I enjoy reading anything.

i absolutely loved the host,
but ponder on the idea that it was a great book on its own. and that maybe, the sequels will destroy that. but, we will just have to wait and see.
GUESS WHAT! the host is becoming a movie!
I read this Stephenie Meyer book prior to the Twilight series. In typical Meyer fashion, she dragged on certain parts that would have been easily (and desirably) shortened. A good sci-fi/love story read.

A good ending to a trilogy! Very beautiful end. I was sad to not be able to read the rest of the story and see what happens from there.

I was born in Connecticut in 1973, during a brief blip in my family's otherwise western U.S. existence. We were settled in Phoenix by the time I was four, and I think of myself as a native. The unusual spelling of my name was a gift from my father, Stephen (+ ie = me). Though I have had my name spelled wrong on pretty much everything my entire life long, I must admit that it makes it easier to goo...more
