Let's be honest, I had to read this book for a class. But, overall, I didn't hate reading it; it definitely had it's moments. Richards seems a bit self-absorbed at times, and yes, he complains quite a bit. But who can blame him? His job really sucks, as you will quickly discover once reading this book. He basically deals with families that have abused or neglected their child(ren) in some way, and it's hardly ever a situation that is anything but bad.
