Warrior:Riposte is the second in the Warrior Trilogy, continuing from Warrior: En Garde. The marriage between Hanse Davion and Melissa Steiner is being planned, but not all of the guests are going to be happy. This marriage is going to change the balance of power in the Inner Sphere and Marik, Liao and Kurita will have to respond.

I'm rereading these books and it's interesting knowing how things are going to end up. The decisions and actions that people are taking have different meanings knowing

Much improved from the first installment; not that that's saying much. The action was less formulaic, the characters more developed. Still suffers from forced and overwrought emotional dialogue. I'm pretty sure a good editor could reduce this trilogy to a single novel and vastly improve the quality in the process. However, for what it is, it was okay.

This book deals with some fairly major parts of the Battletech timeline. It's written by Michael Stackpole. What could go wrong?
Well, the fact that Stackpole REALLY knows the history and the characters involved, for one thing.

This book is a mass of deep conversations, politicking, backstabbing and family feuds. What's lacking is any 'mech action, until a few small parts thrown in at the end.

Yes, it covers the Hanse Davion/Melissa Steiner marriage, and his promise to give her the Capellan Confede

A bit long for what it is, and the writing is a bit subpar, but the plot is getting a little more complex and interesting.

Middle of the trilogy; if you expected a fall from the previous book you did not get it.
