Sure, we all USE some form of Social Media (we're here, aren't we?) But as the only non "Social Media Expert" left in the marketing world, I didn't really know where to start in using it as a part of a marketing strategy. Both my company and the industry it's in have been slow to embrace social media, so I felt a little behind the curve. This book was a great primer to the wide, wide world of SM.

This is an excellent book by Tamar Weinberg. If you're navigating the ocean that is social media and having trouble keeping your head above water, consider this your life preserver.

@tamar really does a fantastic job describing the new community that we call social media / social networking, and she does this with ease and simplicity. I enjoyed the examples throughout the book and basically could not put the #smm #book down. I recommend this to all readers interested in social media marketing (smm) - from the beginner/enthusiast to the seasoned professional! Bravo, Tamar!

The first book I read that opened my eyes to the potential of the social web. Its a great book for those who don't quite understand the internet of today.
Lori Grant
A should-read book on social media for the knowledge worker, manager, executive, or entrepreneur.
Susan Payton
The most comprehensive book on every imaginable social media tool available!

A little dated now, still a good book for anyone looking to get tips in starting off in social media.
Adam Rosenberg
Every communications person should read this book. period.

This book is a resource and once read, it can be read again and then again to continually reference the guidance Tamar offers around how to engage in the different social media environments. Books like this could date so easily as the technology mutates daily but she's written and structured the book so she's talking about the essence of different spheres (bookmarking, blogging, microblogging, social news etc.) so you can take the learnings and essentially apply them to new sites and software as...more

Good overview.

Very useful... but again the most up-to-date info in this area would be in the form of blogs, discussion forums, or articles on the Web itself, as books are outdated very quickly.
