While I admire the bravery of the author sharing such personal tragedies (the multiple deaths of her children, disease, addictions, abuse, etc.), it was difficult for me to come away from the book with a positive attitude.
I read a few self-help-type books at the same time as this one, and while the others left me feeling upbeat and excited to go back for more, I dreaded going back to this one because it was so hard to read about such suffering.

This pretty much validates the twelve step programs. A little preachy, but several interesting images...a t-shirt or a tombstone...on the front what you want people to see in you...on the back would be the real you.
