This book would be a great intergrated math and science lesson. The insightful book, which taught me a thing or two about reptiles, is laid out in the witty rhyming language that Dr. Suess is famous for. The Cat in the Hat takes us on a tour of the world of reptiles and introduces neat facts such as the weight and length of certain reptiles. There are a couple of places in the book where there a comparisions to the length and weight of various reptiles to other objects such as a candy bar. T More...

What a fun book all about reptiles! This Cat in the Hat book informs us about a broad range of reptiles including snakes, alligators, crocodiles, lizards, geckos, turtles, tortoises, and chameleons. It provides a general overview of some of the facts of each reptile as well as general information about reptiles. This would be the perfect introductory book to get young readers hooked on learning about reptiles!

Our girls love the books in The Cat in the Hat's Learning Library series. They combine the fun and rhymes of the Cat in the Hat with science topics and fun facts. Our girls also love reptiles, so this was an easy choice. My only critique is that it covers each type of reptile very briefly, with seemingly random information, but it is an easy reader after all.

I absolutely loved this book for my daughter. As we read it several pages highlighted specific reptiles so we looked each one up on the internet before proceeding. I like how the illustrations are so accurate and they use real examples of lizards & skinks etc. It mixes fun with something that can be boring. A definite thumbs up :)

This book is Dr. Seuss meets Bill Nye! Each page offers a poetic, clever look at reptilian facts. I like the glossary and further reading sections in the back. It's a little lengthy for a Seuss book, but it provides the reader a fun way of comparing reptiles.

My son just read this book to me. I'm not sure if his reading is getting weaker, or whether some words in this book were a bit tough. We shall see. The rhyming was not excellent, but it was well written. Fun read.

A very basic introduction to reptiles for the beginner. The glossary and further reading list are nice additions.
