An entertaining read by someone WAY more fanatical and obsessed with fishing than I am. Made me glad that I have a little more balance in my life and that I have something better to spend my money on than $10,000 fly rods.

Perhaps my favorite of Gierach's essay books -- the title essay is one of his best, and the whole collection effectively delivers the flavor and texture of Gierach's life as a trout bum.

Highly recommended.
