Shirley, Goodnes and Mercy are back again at Christmas time to help answer/guide people who have prayed to God looking for help. One prayer is from a young girl who is trying to deal with getting on with her life after her parents bitter divorce. One prayer is from a pastor dealing with the feelingsh he has after the death of his wife (cancer) and he no longer has the strong feelings of his faith to help him. Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy are sent to Earth once again to help with the prayer requests that people have sent to heaven. This time we have a woman who is still reeling, bitter, and angry from her divorce which occurred years ago, a pastor who has lost his trust in The Lord since his wife died from cancer two years before, and a young man who finds himself attracted to one girl while he is almost engaged to another. The bumbling prayer ambassadors are up to their old tricks as they try to help...more

Angels Shirley, Goodness and Mercy have been sent to Los Angeles to act as prayer ambassadors for three difficult cases. Shirley finds herself assigned to Karen Woods, a young girl who has been having nightmares since her parents painful and messy divorce. Mercy is sent to Catherine Goodwin who is praying her grandson finds a love that will rival the one she experienced years before and Goodness finds herself with a demanding case. Assigned to Paul Morris, Goodness must help the pastor to regain...more

I love Shirley, Goodness and Mercy, and they were their usual bumbling, lovable selves in this book. My problem was with one of the 'heroines' - Maureen was such a bitter, vindictive divorcee that she made her own daughter miserable, and that made me dislike her immensely. The angels had a very hard time with her, and were only slightly successful, IMO. I loved the story of Joy & Ted, and the soul-searching and despair of Paul the minister was very real.

A great little treasure I found years ago at the DI or someplace. This book has laughs, romance, wit, despair, faith...you name it. As 3 loving and extraordinary angels try to grant some Christmas prayer requests we learn that with a little faith, life and love can still carry on after bitter break-ups, and illness and death. Makes me smile to imagine a Prayer Angel waiting to help somebody I've prayed for...

Shirley, Goodness and Mercy are the funniest, most endearing characters I've read about in quite some time! I love the concept behind the story as a whole and I love how well the author weaves the stories together. I agree with other reviewers that it was hard to put down once you start it!

I didn't realize that this was book 2 in a series - guess what I'll be reading next!

Great book, not so Christmassy though, maybe because I didn't read it during the holiday season... Nevertheless; I liked the way Debbie describes human relationships, how they interact with each other & affect each other... the only thing that bugs me is that everyone gets a happy ending...
In this book Paul was really annoying, i did not like the change in him at the end, It was as if Debbie was talking about another guy. (Well, maybe that was the effect the praying ambassador had on him). Ca...more

Laugh out loud in places, a smile most other places, and a few tears in between.

Debbie Macomber knows how to wring emotions with her stories, and as with the first book in the series, this is a thoroughly enjoyable read if you are looking for something lightheared and quick to read.

Personally, I'm on to Book 3 in the series straight away!

I wanted to like this, I'm in the mood for a Christmas story to get the season started. However, I found this book predictable and the plot too contrived to be realistic. I skimmed through the last 2/3 and didn't feel like I missed a thing. I don't think I'll read any more of her books.

This was my first trip with Macomber's spunky angels and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Their offbeat but ultimately effective methods are fun to see in action and the character's journeys of healing ultimately heartwarming to witness!

One of my all-time favorite Christmas books. Debbie's meddlesome angels, Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy, make their first appearance - and it's a memorable one. I often reread this during the holidays. And I rarely reread anything.

Shirley, Mercy, and Goodness return to earth to help a divorcee match up with a widower, two young professionals, and help another widower deal with his loss of faith and depression.

Uplifting and hopeful, this book was perfect for the season. Makes you think about and count your blessings, and to look beyond what you see when you look at someone. We're all struggling, and we can all use friends. Macomber did a good job.

I enjoyed this book. It has three stories going at the same time and I thought it was a delightful book. The angels helped the situations as prayers were asked.

Wasn't as good as Angels at Christmas. I still like reading about the 3 angels Shirley, Mercy, and Goodness though..

Another Macomber feel good story. She does a great job finding three characters that help you remember the reason for the season. Merry Christmas!!!

I could have done without the angel parts. (The story would have been great without the angels.)
Wendy

Loved it!! Shirley, Goodness and Mercy have such a great time with their assignments.

Very cute. Her stories are pretty predictable, but I still love the small town feeling.
Mandy
A fun and cheerful read full of hope and faith for the Christmas season.

My favorite angels are at it again. Cars moving, pamphlets floating, notes appearing, calls made, electricity stopping, all at the essentials needed to meet prayer requests.-- or is it just Shirley, Goodness and Mercy at it again?!?
Caroline wants love for her grandson, Ted (Joy who works at my retirement home would be nice). Paster Paul needs healing from losing his wife to cancer. Karen wants her parents to get along -- maybe a horse or a stable owner, Thom would fix it.
