This completes the series on the Doctrine & Covenants, which I have read along with my reading of the Doctrine & Covenants these past months.

These books have helped me gain a greater appreciation for the Doctrine & Covenants and the importance of knowing what this work of scripture says.

I've finished this book, which covers the sections of the Doctrine and Covenants from 41 to 80, and I'm reading the next one. These books provide a lot of insight into each section, both historical and doctrinal, and I have enjoyed learning more about this work of scripture through them.

It was somewhat helpful/insightful.
I don't usually like reading study helps along with the scriptures unless I really need to. I feel like doing so takes away from your own personal revelation.

Wow did this book ever help me to understand so much more of the Doctrine and Covenants! Now I have to get volume 1.

I liked this commentary. It had quite a bit of different material than some of the other commentaries (like Doxey).

Stephen E. Robinson has taught at Brigham Young University since 1986. He received a B.A. from Brigham Young University in 1971 in English Literature and a PhD from Duke University in 1978 in Biblical Studies. He and his wife, Janet, have six children.
