Star Wars: Boba Fett #4: Hunted, by Elizabeth Hand

"Hunted" is the fourth book in a six book series on the life of young Boba Fett. In "Hunted," Boba Fett flies to Tatooine to find the crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

Jango Fett, Boba's father, had left instructions for his son to go to Jabba to learn knowledge. But Boba runs into problem after problem on Tatooine, first losing his father's Mandalorian helmet to a street gang, to having no credits to buy water - a necessity on the desert planet.

Trying to make Boba Fett "kindly" in order to appeal to young readers is doing a disservice to the character. Honestly, he's probably not the best subject for this age group. Plus, Hand seems to ignore Boba Fett's existing history as laid out in other EU novels. She also seems to ignore anything that makes it hard for her to tell her story, like the fact that Gammoreans don't speak Basic! Forgettable. I wouldn't even recommend this to young readers.

Better than books 2 and 3. Boba is trying to get a job in Jabba's palace and confronts a shady Neimoidian and the powerful Durge, ancient enemy of the Mandalore. Lots of action, some touching moments and less predictable story. Now I hope that the next novels will feature slightly older Boba!
Suitable for children aged 8+ and those who have seen the films.
Boba goes to Jabba the Hutt like his Dad advised him to, and tries to impress him. A good read.
I don't approve of any storyline that tries to make Boba Fett anything less than the killer he was supposed to be in this universe. So this series was terrible.

Well written and to the point, of the start of the legacy of the greatest bounty hunter in star wars history.
They just keep getting better and better. Four down, two to go. I can't wait.
