This is the follow-up to Crank and I was a bit skeptical as to how it would play out, since at the end of the first she had supposedly quit the habit. I actually found this one to be a bit more believable in terms of the way her addiction played out, and while it could have been just the same plot re-hashed, it definitely didn't feel that way to me.

After I was done with Crank, I learned that there was a sequel to it. The name is Glass. I was disappointed with this book compared to, Crank but it still was an awesome book.
Glass picks up right off where Crank ended. This girl is still all messed up on drugs and has many other problems to go along with that. She keeps driving her family further and further away. Later she gets so bad that instead of buying it and using it, she is now dealing it. This tends to get her into a lot of trou More...

Everything seemed to spiral downward. There were some happy moments, and I suppose this could be a purposeful bleak emphasis on how drugs and more cause everything to go downhill, yet I still enjoyed it somewhat less than Crank. I kept becoming frustrated with the main character, Kristina/Bree, wanting to shake some sense into her as she continued to make horrible decisions and hardly any good ones. The message rings out loud and clear - Just Say No (and your life won't end up like Kristina/Bree

Glass is the sequel to Crank continuing us into the addiction of the main character, Kristina (Bree), now a young mother dealing with the aftermaths of her life as a meth user. These kinds of books take us to a place most of us will never go which I think allows us to understand some things we hopefully will never experience first-hand. By reading through these pages, you can see the turmoil, the struggle, the constant reaching out for love of this character. The author writes that this book s

Glass book review assignment
The book I read for my book review was Glass. The author of the book was Ellen Hopkins. The reason the author wrote the book was to give insight at the damaging affects of what the author calls “The Monster”, which is the deadly drug methamphetamine. The author wrote this book for people who think they want to experiment with drugs to show them it’s a bad path. The narrator of the story is the main character. An 18 year old girl named Kristina who is addicted to More...

Glass is the continuing story of Crank. Crank is about a teenager who tries crank for the first time and falls in love with the monster. The book ends with the teen is pregnant with the baby of the man who raped her. Glass picks up shortly after the teenager named Kristina, also known as Bree, has the baby. She is not even 18 years old yet. She names the baby Hunter. For a while she had given up on the monster, to s More...

Hopkins second novel in the Crank series begins after Kristina has had her baby and is trying to be a mother and finish up her GED. She is stressed and finally breaks down, giving into the addiction of meth once again. The story tells Kristina's new battle with meth, this time in crystal form which she finds even more appealing. She falls in love, gets into more trouble with her family and keeps up her supply of meth. It is another story of addiction, both of meth and of lust. Hopkins second nov

The reason why I chose this book is because it's an interesting book about a teenage girls' life. This book is about a teenage girl,Kristina 18, who has a son named Hunter. Ever since she lived with her dad last summer,(In the book Crank), she's been addicted to drugs. She stops for awhile but once she got her hands on it she just couldn't stop. My favorite quote in the book was, "Six months since we met up again we are inseparable, an intricate weave. No longer do I believe this is a tempo

Well, I tried to read the 2nd book in this series because my friends really love her books and I can't get them to stop talking about them. I picked up Crank last year and found that the format in which she writes her stories (verse) was a very powerful way of portraying such a hard, emotional story. But I am not a huge fan of contemporary reads and although I did not fall in love with the story I found it powerful and loved the idea of verse books.

Glass, one of the few sequels to Crank, by Ellen Hopkins, is a strong and enlightening novel. It’s about a girl named Kristina who has recently gotten over her addiction to meth. Between a newborn baby, trying to get her GED, and an expecting mother, Kristina thinks she can control the meth by using only once in a while. For a small time, things are going according to plan. Only problem is, no one can control the monster (meth), and it’s too late before Kristina realizes it.

To say that Hopkins has done it again barely covers how freakin' incredible this woman is! (Not just as a writer, but as an advocate against censorship).
She grabs your heart and clenches it ever so slightly until you realize a little too late that it's been pulled out of your chest. Simultaneously you are thankful that the book is over while still longing for more.
Glass is the continuation of Crank, the story of Katherine and how she gets hooked on Crystal Meth. I read Crank More...

Sequel to Crank, Glass is an amazing suspenceful story of drugs, sex, lies, and Kristina's (bree) less than one year old rape baby Hunter. When Kristina's mother aka the ice queen finds out about her daughter's drug habit she kicks her out of the house to live with her new boyfriend Trey.Treys older brother helps Kristina by giving her a job as a dealer selling a pound of cocaine at a time. When Trey comes home from school he tells her hes been seeing other women. When the other women shows up sh

When I sat down to this book I was expecting greatness due to the first book. What I got was much more than that. I personally love this book. As I read it, Kristina, who was already intimate with me through the first book, spiraled down a darker path. I watched a she struggled with her addiction. I felt the whole time as if it were I who was addicted to the meth. I didn’t agree with the way the author had her react with her son, but it was still phenomenal. All in all, this book really got to m

My opinion, of Glass, by Ellen Hopkins was that it was an extremely well written book. It kept you reading, and it also kept you from wanting to put it down. As Ellen Hopkins continues with her stories, the haunting point, that sums it all up, is that this IS a true story to her. She had to witness it first-hand, how speed can take over your life, and how quickly it can do so. Her daughter was a victim of the monster - speed, it consumed and directed every move she made. This story, shows you pr

As I read Glass, the second book in the Crank series, I could not put the book down!! We learn in "Crank" that Kristina (or Bree) has a baby boy named Hunter. We follow Kristina's story in the book Glass. Kristina has big plans to get her GED, get a great job, and take care of Hunter. Does Kristina follow her dreams, or does the "monster" reel her back in?
I bought the third book in the series, called "Fallout" because I continue reading about Kristina. More...

I thought I’d pick up this book seeing as I read the first one (I seem to be really bad at reading the beginning of a series without finishing it). Even though it is a seven hundred page book, they are really quick reads, seeing as it takes a mere twenty seconds to read each page. I do have to say I’m glad there was a slight recap at the beginning, cause I have to admit I pretty much didn’t remember squat about Crank. Don’t get me wrong, it was an ok read, it just wasn’t memorable. One thing go

This book was really good. It makes you want to read all day. In this book the main character was Kristina. She moved in with her dad for a while and be came strung out on glass or in other words meth. In this book she moves back home with her mom, step-father,and her brother. She is only 17 and she has a son nameed hunter. Kistina is trying to get her life together but she doesnt know how. The author is telling how young people use drugs and cant stop. Glass is the sequel to the book Crank, and it's even sadder than the last, and another book by this author called Impulse. So yet again kristina is fighting her evil self in side, who she has called Bree. Bree gets her back on drugs after trying to quit, even though she already has a baby. She meets a guy who she falls in love with who she lives with, helps him take care of his kids, and he helps her get high. and so she cheats on him, gets involved with Mexican mofia, gets pregnant again, loses

The novel Glass by Ellen Hopkins is a novel about a teenager named Kristina who had recently given birth to a baby, and had given up a dangerous and inappropriate lifestyle to become sober and clean off of methamphetamines. The story goes on to show how Kristina spirals back into her old habits and becomes once again an addict living off her “monster” the drug, and barely making a living for herself let alone her child. Her and her boyfriend Trey live paycheck to paycheck, as Kristina’s mother

Despite many recommendations from my classmates, I really don't like this series that much. It's not the kind of thing I obsess over. It's not that it's not a good series, it's just not my type of book. I can see why it can be appealing to so readers(it's based on real events in the author's life, a lot of teens can relate to it, and it is incredibly sad), but I can't seem to sympathize with the main character at all.

This book is the sequal to Crank, by Ellen Hopkins. This series is about the perfect teenager, Kristina Snow, who after a visit to her dad becomes addicted to the monster, crystal meth. At the end of the first book she gives birth to her son Hunter, but she is barley 18 years old. Glass continues this story by explaining how her life changed drasticly when she thinks that she can handle her drug addiction. Kristina gets thrown out of her house and does not have enough money to aford an apartment

Glass is the continuing sequel to the book 'Crank'. I found this book a bit strange and depressing, yet fully entertaining at the same time! I love the Ellen Hopkins books, every book has a different situation with different people and you get curious on what might happen this time. The book revolves around Kristina's (Bree) life and her problems and various addictions, which leads her to face lots of problems. For instance, the draws her family further and further away from her, she has not spo

She is also almost 18 and is looking forward to having her and Hunter move out but she has to get a job first to be able to pay for food for Hunter.
