This is becoming one of those series that I can read when I want something short and sweet and just a little bit predictable. But there are times when I want just that so it hits the spot perfectly!

The characters we have met since book one continue to make an appearance with new characters and relationships the focus of each new book.

Demitri was so hard on himself and Aaron wanted to be with him so bad. It was so heart-rending but touching at the same time to read about all they put themselves through.

This is the story of Demitri, one of the two brothers of Alec, the main characters of Side-Lined. Demitri is still mourning on the loss of good friend, but he has set his eyes on Aaron, the soccer coach. Demitri is strong and big, but has fragile feelings, he doesn't want to risk again to loose someone he loves, and so he takes Aaron at arm lenght. But phisycal desires are also strong and in the end Demitri has to take his chance to love and suffer again to gain a always forever type of relation ...more
Demitri Demakis is the brother of Alec Demakis from book 2, Side-Lined. Demitri does not live the BDSM lifestyle that Alec does, but he is openly gay like his brother. When an obvious attraction develops between Demitri and Coach Aaron Billings at a party, Aaron starts pursuing his love interest but Demitri is reluctant because of some issues in his past. Demitri has spent the last 8 years watching a man he loves die, and he's reluctant to open himself to loving anyone else. This book was just o ...more

Ooooh how I"m loving this series and so bummed but excited I didn't discover it earlier! I was a little confused about Dimitri's relationship with his friend that has passed. He says at one time that during the time he was with him at the end he slept with an employee of his sick friends and the only way to get him thru the guilt was in his friends' arms... but he goes on to say he never had a romantic relationship with him... so I'm not sure why he would feel guilty or whatever about the fact h ...more

I just love this serie, that's all I have to say.

Now it's Aaron and Demitri's story. Aaron is the soccer head coach and since he met Demitri he had been more than interest in the man. Demetri is attracted to Aaron, but he hadnt been thru the lost a former lover and is not exactly with any intentions to start a new relationship, but after a while he start to wonder how would it be to be with Aaron.

This book, is more about how Aaron and Demetri got together and how they pass over some issues, but

This book was another great one by Carol Lynne :) I really didn't know how I would Demitri's story after my unsettling experience with Alec's story, but to my surprise, I really enjoyed reading about Dem, especially once we realize what happened to him and why he is so closed off from love. Watching his relationship with Soccer Coach Aaron develop and seeing them make it through a couple different rough patches was refreshing and unnerving at the same time. I was afraid for a minute that they we ...more

Aaron and Demitri were quite the problem couple. Poor Aaron sure showed a lot of patience...more than Demitri showed towards him. An enjoyable story that I'd revisit often.

If you read my previous review for this book, you saw my own notes for spelling mistakes. Yikes! Sorry about that. Those are my pet peeves, although I know when I write I probably have loads that I'm unaware of, so I shouldn't say anything...

***As you'll have noticed, I don't really write "reviews", just my own rambling though

3 3/4 stars, rounded up.

Each book in this series improves on the stories told by Ms. Lynn. This book, Off Season, is no different.

Demitri Demakis is brother to Alec (who is partners with Max) from book two. He’s in love with Aaron, but also afraid to let himself feel that love. He’s got a secret hidden in his past, and it’s one that leaves him afraid to love anyone. Slowly the ice thaws and he finds that, maybe, he can love someone again.

Books 4 & 5 are cheaper (2 for the price of 1) if bought as Campus Cravings Vol. 2: Off The Field.
Well, I spoke too early when I rated another book three stars. I had a little trouble connecting with Dem, and I guess, in understanding Aaron's devotion to him. I found a couple of inconsistencies in Dem's history/profile that pulled me out of the story for a bit.

2.5 stars

I know I'll continue to read this series, but the writing quality doesn't compare to many other 3 star books I've read recently. The writing can be quite 'jerky' - jumping to a new phase/idea without any lead in. It was very quick and a little unsatisfying.
3.5 'Great little hot mm series' stars
So much pain in the back stories of these different characters but from so many varying causes. Again I felt for Dem and was so glad he and Aaron found their HEA. Hot, sweet and so easy to read.

seemed rushed especially since Dem was having all these thoughts about death etc. Didn't really connect to the characters either. It's not a bad book but I feel the others in the series are better

My heart was put through the wringer with everything that Demetri went through. And loved Aaron's Halloween costume. These 2 were made for each other

Сюжет книг начал повторяться. Ненужные миллионы, лежащие на счетах, постройка зданий на благотворительные цели и т.д. Скучновато.

Hm, Demitri and Aaron's romance didn't work for me. This whole story with Basil and mixed dramatic emotions from Demitri, simply didn't feel right. But at least they got their HEA.
