I felt bad for the heroine, she had babies and got kicked out from her parents home because they cared more about their image and pride than they did their daughter. I was so happy at the end that things worked out. As for the hero, he was an odd one at the start of the book and kind of arrogant but he turned out to be a good man and I love how he fathered the twins. The book was likable and the emotions at times were high. Worth the read.

Dane Morgan is a Texas Ranger whose only dreams are to head to Mexico and open a para-sailing business. Those dreams are shattered when he gets a letter from his father. A cold, abusive man whom he hasn’t seen in years, Dane’s father gives him an ultimatum. Come home to the ranch for a year or forfeit his inheritance of a million dollars. When he turns up at the family ranch, it’s to find his father gone to France and a live in housekeeper settling in, a “sassy single mother” named Suzy Winterst ...more
I felt it was rushed and underdeveloped. I thought it might have been wonderful though if John and Jake each got their own books, instead of spliting just one. Each has their own benefits but in one hundred pages I don't feel that they have the room to breath that they need so the stories could be truly engrossing.

This one was ok, I wish the romance could have been a bit more developed. I believe if this had been a full length book I would have given it more stars.

“He walked into the house, smelling baked cookies. Now if that didn't make a house a home, nothing would. "Mmm!" he said loudly to announce his presence. "Something smells good!"

Cricket poked her head out of the kitchen. "Come poach a cookie or two."

"Yes, ma'am." He strolled into the kitchen and was pleased to see Suzy dressed in a pretty pink apron with red hearts on it. "Hello, Priscilla," he said. "Hi, Suzy.”
