Tony Mitton's books are hit-and-miss with my boys (ages 4 & 8). Some they've loved. Others they've disliked. This one falls in the "okay" category.

It's a rhyming book about a little bear who asks his mother/father questions all day.

"Why does the sun come and light up the day?
To wake you from sleep so you come out and play."

or

"Why does the path make such wiggles and bends?
To take us on journeys and lead us

Such an adorable book, I really loved the illustrations and the text. The rhyme was just perfect, and the constant questions capture children at their finest!

Recommended Ages: toddlers/preschoolers

A little bear wakes in the morning and asks his mother questions about all kinds of things they come across during the day. Mother Bear always has an answer (at time a philosophical answer) and bear is satisfied at the end of the day. Good for toddlers/preschoolers who ask lots of questions. Good rhythm and rhyme.

A very reasonable book about a curious little bear who asks questions about his day that focus on nature, but also bring up deeper issues. Images of the little bear crossing streams, playing in the wind, and walking pathways all exhibit different feelings, such as joy, playfullness, and adventure.

Clever, cute, fun, a joy to read.

The theme this Friday with our 4 to 6 group was bears. And out of the many we read this one a really good one. It has all kinds of cute little questions the kids could relate to and illustrations were absolutely darling.

A great book for all curious bears. I have 2 and one that can't ask questions yet.
