I'm kind of on the fence about this book. On the one hand, McClelland is giving lots of useful tips, and I'm learning things I didn't know about the program.
On the other hand, the dude is obsessed with keyboard shortcuts that, as far as I can tell, don't really do all that much time saving.

Great guide. McClelland does an excellent job of breaking InDesign into manageable pieces and then weaving them back together for an overall picture.
I bought this book hoping to be able to do rather better with it than with Adobe's documentation. As a desk reference I found it very useful. If I have any complaint it is that occasionally I find something that just isn't explained and then I flounder around alternative info., but generally speaking it fulfilled about 90% of my needs in getting to grips with Indesign.

Deke's books are incredibly well organized and easy to follow. The one-one-one books include a dvd of instructional videos that are very good.
