Don Cupitt aims to tell us what we already believe, to put into words the feelings of our age. We don't believe in heaven, or the soul, or a God who puts things right at the end of a Grand Narrative of history. And we know we don't believe that because we don't act as if it were true.

Amazon has an excerpt, which includes the block of statements at the beginning of the book, and the rest of the book just explains those statements. Read it, and see if you don't agree.
