Finally, the "Body Movers" series is hitting its stride. Though I still can't claim to love this series, I'm not disliking it as much...even though I'm still frustrated and hate the direction it's going. Sounds weird, I know. Maybe I'm becoming a masochist. At any rate, I'll be going to the library for book six.

A number of things need to happen in order for me to not kick myself for wasting my time. (The bad thing is I have no idea if or when this will happen...Stephanie Bond sounds like a polit...more

This book needed some serious editing down. I wanted to like this book, and in parts I did. I realize I came into this series in the middle, having started with #5. But if I liked it enough, I would have tracked down 1 - 4. A good author will fill in enough details so that the reader doesn't feel totally out of the loop, and for the most part Ms Bond did do that. What I wasn't happy with was the fact that nothing really happened in the book.

The female lead, Carly was apparently struggling with...more

I want to like this series so much. She has decent characters and a story line that could actually work if the author could write well enough to actually make both work. I feel like the author is trying so hard to stretch this out or make it Stephanie Plum like that she is failing. So far I feel like we have read the same thing wrote differently in each book; which is probably why her hair dresser remarks are on the front of the book instead of a peer or critic. I said this before on the prior b...more

I liked this one, but mostly for all the awkwardness that kept going on. I am not a big Peter fan, but did find his jumping the gun to be super funny! I am sure that his head is messed up and that is causing his issues. I liked that with each instance Carlotta was relieved more than anything.

I found myself laughing over the whole vase/ceiling fan issue Carlotta came up against. My thoughts were right with hers. I loved that she called Hannah, and even though they were in a tiff she was right the...more

Carlotta Wren has more adventures. This is the fifth book in the series.

Charlotta moves into her ex-fiance's mansion in an exclusive section of Atlanta. She is trying to stay alive. The Charmed Killer is loose and she may become the next victim.

Her brother, Wesley, is getting deeper into his oxycontin addiction. Her parents are still bail-jumpers. Her friend, Coop, has been behaving irratically. Jack, the detective, is always a thorn in her side...maybe her heart.

The angst level in this series i...more

If you hadn't read the last two books you'd be completely lost reading this one. I'm getting a little tired of Carlotta, she's coming across as a very immature selfish person! I've noticed as this series goes on there's more and more sexual references. That doesn't bother me..but it's so obvious if you read this series from the first book on. And the sexual references aren't even that interesting! I've got one more to go, since the rest have yet to be printed and I'll really be glad to get it ov...more

I have absolutely loved reading this series but by this time I am getting really frustrated with everybody's inability to just tell the stinkin' truth! Hannah's not honest with Carlotta not honest with Jack, Peter or Coop and Wes is not honest with anyone, Of them all, Carlotta is the most infuriating. Rather than just being open and honest, she always uses avoidance or just runs away. It is most frustrating with Coop. She claims to be such a good friend to him but many times she knows he needs...more

I'm still reading this series mostly because I want to find out what happens with Coop and Jack, as in, which one what's-er-face will pick.
Anything to do with Wes, her brother, usually involves crass language or descriptions.
I'm picking all sorts of holes in the plot. The writing is barely OK. I don't really trust Bond to come wup with an end that's going to be satisfying, but I want to see what she does come up with.
If this series goes on longer than No. 6 I am going to be so annoyed. Thank go...more

I listen to this series on IPOD and the voices are great! Oh the ending of this one is horrible! Of the three men in Carlotta's life Cooper is my favorite so this book was harder for me because Coop all but disappeared. Carlotta is her normal busybody self and solves a few crimes/questions in crimes, keeps every male around her at high alert, and manages to wreck a few motor vehicles. Wesley is still causing trouble. The charmed killer never gets caught (I guess that is what 6 is for) however Pe...more

Not to enamored of this one. It's a continuation of the storyline from 4 Bodies And A Funeral with a lot of the story retold. I'm beginning to be bored with Carlotta's misadventures and Wesley's drug and gambling problems. It seems as if the author could continue dragging the story out forever. There's no closure on the father's situation yet he is constantly a suspect in everything that happens in town even though he's been gone for 10 years. Wesley just keeps getting deeper and deeper into tro...more

"5 Bodies to Die For" by Stephanie Bond picks up right where "4 Bodies and a Funeral" left off. If you haven't read the previous books in this series, DO NOT try to start here! Bond's 'Body Movers' series is marketed under 'sexy mystery' and that's about a perfect way to describe it. Even when the situation becomes serious, the author quickly finds a way to lighten the tone which makes these reads wonderful for a lazy afternoon. But you probably don't want to read them in public--unless you don'...more

good - but getting frustrated with the fact that Carlotta can't realize that she's better off not hanging with the country club crowd and that she doesn't want the wealthy lifestyle she had as a child. And that Wesley just keeps getting in deeper & deeper - when is he going to grow up & get over all his addictions? I think he's basically good hearted, but completely unable to make a good decision...It would be nice to see them solve a few of their problems.

Carlotta Wren and her brother Wesley are body movers; they move bodies from accident sites or murder scenes to the morgue. With a serial killer on the loose, dubbed the Charm Killer, Carlotta gets a little too close to the action for the liking of the men in her life vying for her attentions. Plus, Carlotta's long-missing father is a person of interest in the killings.

A cute and cozy mystery with some romance interspersed that will keep you turning pages not only to learn who the killer is, but...more

5 Bodies to Die for is the 5th book in the series Body Movers. I enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one had this line on page 11: "In the background, she thought she'd heard Maria and other noises that made her wonder if Jack had already found a new project for his tool." And yes, she is not referring to something from Sears. I read 39 pages and gave up.

This is the first book I have read in this series, and I like it. It has a semi-Stephanie Plum feel to it with the destruction of cars, cop semi-boyfriend, love triangle, and part-time job that no one approves of, but it really is its own series. I actually like Carlotta better than I like Stephanie Plum. Of course, no one can touch Ranger and Joe although they come close.

I loved this series! IF you like Stephanie Plum You MUST MUST read this series! I honestly enjoyed it better!!! Stephanie Plum has gotten predictable!!! This one NEVER!!! Each story is different!! Still the love triangle...but it is very CLEAR who she needs to be with and who she wants to be with!!!!!

#5 Body Movers "sexy mystery" series

The Charmed (serial) Killer is still on the loose in Atlanta -- leaving charms (as in bracelet charms) on the bodies of his victims.

The Body Movers series book 5 continues both the overall series, but is second in the series-within-a-series featuring the Charmed Killer (books 4, 5 &6).

More of the same from the previous books ... mystery, romance, intrigue, new developments in sub-plots and secondary characters :-). Just like eating ice cream! I read this...more

Again, this is a series that is actually pretty good, but I suggest you read rather than listen to it. My mp3 player doesn't let you fast forward so you have to listen to the sex scenes, and this author thinks we want to know everything about the bedroom lives of these people. If you could turn the pages past them, it is a great mystery series.

I enjoy the Stephanie plum novels, but these are so much better. Stephanie Bond is a great writer. the books have a good flow and are a quick read.
Sometimes I get so mad at the characters in this series, but I guess that is a part of the appeal. (just be truthful people!) I'd also like.to see Carlotta settle w Cooper... but we shall see! I can't wait for #7!
Mickey (I'm A Book Shark)
These books don't miss a beat, and they're getting more and more like Stephanie Plum. Crazy moments, more sex, all sorts of bad goings on. Wesley is turning out to be a bad seed, Cooper is in some trouble, etc etc. Goodness.
Jodi
Still a fun story but the series is starting to get a little redundant with the Charmed Killer storyline and so many other things that are stretching out throughout the series without resolving or moving on at all.

I have really enjoyed this series, however I get really frustrated when the main character has so many accidents. But none the less they are fun reads.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Cliffhangers. I have enjoyeed the story line and plot so far. Can not wait to see what happens next.
Trish
By the end of this book, I found myself wanting the whole Charmed Killer thing to be resolved and not at all excited by yet another book.
Jeanie
Fun series -- want to keep reading. The ending of each book makes me want to find the next book to see what happens.
Kristen
The overarching plot makes snail progress leading to whether Carlotta is losing
her Mojo or just filler.

I cant stand Peter. Would love for carlotta and jack to be a couple. So many things need to happen for me in next book
Lizz Wodrich
I think I'm team Jack. I could be Team Coop. I am NOT Team Peter. Not sure why....

Like a bunch of her earlier books but think this series has gone on a little to long.
