I picked up the book because it had an interesting cover, but I'm glad I did. The story starts off with Jimmu's father commiting "seppuku" (suicide to preserve his honor) and Jimmu going to live with the family's bodyguard, who trains him in the ways of the warrior. He grows up with one purpose: to kill the person who shamed his father into killing himself. But Jimmu quickly discovers that things are not all that they seem, and he has to decide whether to avenge his dead father or d...more
Jimmu was ten years old when his father commits seppuku and his mother poisons herself to avoid shame to the family. Jimmu is raised and trained in samaurai weapons by his father's loyal bodyguard, Nichiren, in order to avenge his father's death on Lord Ankan. Jimmu infiltrates the castle, biding his time, planning the perfect assassination, but as he gets to know Lord Ankan, he can't reconcile the evil lord he was trained to kill and the truth of Lord Ankan's behavior.
Good storyline - though written by a Westerner, there is authenticity in it. the plot was good but I wished that the story had been a bit longer.
Love this book! REally liked it. Gaya pemaparannya mirip gaya penulis Nurhayati Pujiastuti. Tidak bertele-tele. Singkat, berisi. Asyiklah!
Evocative and written gracefully and sparingly. I look forward to more of Jimmu's adventures.
It is awesome. Juz like yah reading heaven

A must read!
I really liked this book. It was filled with action and i never wanted to stop reading it. This about a boy who vows to kill Lord Ankan and become a samurai warrior because his father had to commit suicide because he was set up by him. He goes to his castle and wants to become good friends with him so he can get close enough to kill him. If you want to find out wether or not he kills Lord Ankan then read the book.

Slightly predictable, but not in a bad way, this was a good introduction to 16th century Japan and the life of a warrior. Jimmu is a believable character, and invites both sympathy and respect.
Buku motivasi yang menyamar sebagai buku fiksi sejarah. :D Yang nulisnya aja Andrew Matthews. Itu lhooo, yang nulis seri Being Happy!
Heh heh heh...
Tapi ringan juga, jadi mayan deh. :D
