review courtesy of Romance Junkies:

Princess Lucinda is on a new mission. Her recent bonding with two different creatures has given her more power than she has ever had. She has returned from Hell to make a new life with her mixed family and start fresh on Earth among the living. Lucinda returns from a quiet evening out to utter chaos. As soon as they enter her domain, Derek, a rogue demon and one of Lucinda's greatest enemies douses her powers with magic and captures her.

Okay, I am starting to get in to this series. This story was a little busy for me, but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. I've become invested in the characters and hope that she continues with the story. Lucinda has gone through some amazing changes and not all for the bad. Although she may not agree, she is a demon after all. But the men in her life have changed something inside of her that she never expected to find and it's very gratifying.
Keep em coming Sunny.
Highly recommend.

I thought this book was just okay. It's been a long time since the first Lucinda book came out and as I didn't keep it - a quick refresher on all of Lucinda's men and their importance to her would've been nice. I found the story to be a bit stilted as there were side stories for both Ruric and Hari and Talon that I found unsatisfying. I also didn't care for the way that Lucinda so quickly dispatched the supposedly invincible Merlin. All that build up into the rogue Derek for him to be easily kil...more

Lucinda, Dangerously by Sunny
Paranormal Romance- October 6th, 2009
5 stars

I have been waiting impatiently for Sunny’s latest book. And Lucinda, Dangerously was everything I thought it would be and plenty MORE!! Sunny has written a story that her fans will be sure to devour. It is both dark and refreshing. A flight of the imagination that captured my attention and kept me spellbound long after I finished the last page. This story builds enormously upon her fist book Lucinda Darkly. And although I...more

I'm dissapointed with this book. It started out bad and ended up ok. Usually a book picks up and this one did not. I skimmed through the book. I liked the first one but this time Lucinda seemed lost. It seems like this book is trying to prepare the reader for a bigger and better book by developing characters. And that's good but that's exactly what it did, develop characters with a dumb story. Lucinda was bound with two men and now it's four. I'm hoping that in the next book it's not six men, I'...more

What I liked:

-Talon meeting his mom

-Lucinda flying with her dad ini dragon form

-Nico managing not to die when cut off from Lucinda when she was in her cone of silence

-Derek the demon finally dies

-There is another aspect of the Monere/Queen Mother that is revealed/More of Lucinda's family history is revealed as well

-Even liked how there was a much younger Demon Dead character introduced which means that she might have more of a story to tell if Sunny chooses to continue in this vain

-New twist on...more

Lucinda is a Demon Princess who's gained massive powers that no one has ever heard of before. Because of that, she's made new enemies but she's also made new life-long relationships. She has recently bonded to a Monére warrior and a creature from hell called flowers of darkness. They are literally all black and can travel through plants' roots and heal a person. Along with her lover, Stefan, his ward, Jonnie, and two bodyguards sent by her father, their little group just wants to make a new life...more

I wasn't sure how to rate this one - didn't like it as much as Lucinda, Darkly, but the story picked up more towards the end. I loved how we were given more of Hari's history, a softer side of Ruric and new additions Sarai and Brielle. But, I did miss Stefan and Nico in this one.

I didn't realize at the time I purchased Lucinda, Darkly that it was a spin-off of Sunny's Monere series. Now that I'm beginning to read that series, this one seems that much better. Hence my 4★ rating for this book.

I like this world, her prose is sassy and the characters are likeable. I think I might like this series better than mona lisa, if only because there is a little more going on.

But don't you think Lucinda would be a little smarter and more world weary after 700 years of life? I guess I just don't get the whole immortality attraction. But for paranormal romance (essentially) it is an enthralling read.

This is book two in a spin off series from the Mona Lisa series by the same author. It's an urban fantasy/paranormal romance with a moderate dose of erotica mixed in. If you like the one women with many boyfriends motif of the Merry Gentry or Anita Blake series by LK Hamilton, this author will entertain you.

The premise is that Lucinda is a 500 year old demon who hunts rogues. In the last book, she accidentally ended up metaphysically linked to several men, and learned she could turn into a drag...more

This book really should be 3.5 star rated because the action, the unique characters and the emotional plotting is still there, however for some reason I felt disconnected from the heroine, Lucinda, in this book.

Actually, that's not true. I always feel a disconnect from her. Unlike Mona Lisa, I never WANTED for Lucinda. She was just an available link to the Moneries I fell so in love with. While her followers and bondmates are interesting and lovable, they are just a pale immatation of Mona Lisa,...more

I liked this second book in the Lucinda series.. but honestly it was a little confusing at times. The narration was primarily Lucinda but it often switched between other characters. There were also multiple plots going on, and at times seemed to be too much. Still I liked the world that she created. It's interesting with the Monere and the demons and what her idea of Hell really is.

I also still think of the Merry Gentry series whenever I read this one.. the similarities to me are astounding.

A very dark erotic read. I just love reading about the Monère Society, they are so deliciously addictive. Lucinda is a strong character, a demon clinging onto her humanity in feelings and thoughts. A tender bond is formed with each of her men that is sweet and endearing.

In this sequel, we see a mature Talon evolving into more of his Floradëur lineage. Hari, definitely kept this book wonderfully intriguing. There were some issues with the story... or stories that seemed to have spun off within th...more

I am very much enjoying this series. It has such a homey approach to Lucinda's very weird life. I'm thinking that Mona Lisa's morals have been rubbing off on Lucinda...who knew!

Had fun reading this book, hwoever, I felt the end was incomplete. Also, I hope this doesn't turn into another Anita Blake series with so many relationships :(

not bad, more plot and less sex then expected, but in a good way.

who cares about Derek? I wanna know about the blind chick!

I really enjoy the world that Sunny has created. I think that her stories about Lucinda and Mona Lisa are great reads.
Sonia
I'm not big into erotica, but the lore in this series is fairly unique, I think.

Sunny is one heck of a talented writer. I usually feel some dissapointment with spin off series but Lucinda I actually grew to like more than the Mona Lisa who started her writing career. The storyline is definately original. I truly never know what to expect in plot twists. Sunny suspends reality quite easily and I getted sucked into the world she builds. I can't believe I waited as long as I had to read Lucinda's story. Also, really steamy sex scenes. Really, fog up the entire subway car steam...more

This was book was better than the first I think and I gave five stars to that one if I could give ten I would. Lucinda shows a side of being a women who knows what she wants and will fight for it with her very life. The bloodline of the dragon clan and phoenix clan made her a half-blood. She loves the men who stand by her and they love her as well. I dearly loved this story.

Sunny is an amazing author who will have your mind spinning in amazement within the first few pages of her books. You never know what is going to happen next. It's immpossible to tell what relationships will begin and which may end or what unknown realm they may end up in. Sunny's novels are a must read. Action-packed, Spicy Romances, and danger lurking around every corner, what more could you ask for? I can't wait for the next book in this series =)

A family practice physician and Vassar graduate, Sunny was finally pushed into picking up her pen by the success of the rest of her family. Much to her amazement, she found that, by golly, she actually could write a book, and that it was much more fun than being a doctor.

As an author, Sunny has been featured on Geraldo at Large and CNBC, and has won many awards including the prestigious PRISM Awar...more
