This is an incredible book that I'd like to recommend to everyone. If you're not a woman, you can read the same 5 lessons in The 5 Lessons a Millionaire taught me about Life and Wealth.

This book is a quick read and that's a big plus since I've slogged through quite a few finance type books (and some I didn't finish). Richard outlines the steps to financial freedom in easy to understand terms with plenty of interesting examples.

He writes in such a way that I felt l...more

Recommends it for: anyone catching it during this crisis.
A few years ago before the financial crisis took us to this state, Mr Evans wrote the first Five Lessons that was written generically. This year with folks futures looking dubiously, especially women, he comes back again with a new version written especially for women. Again, he talks about the Five Lessons taught to him by a millionaire years ago in his church, and he took them to heart and started his own fortune. Women can learn some timely lessons on how to start a nest egg, how to preserve ...more

Based on simple principles of action and responsibility, this book is a quick, but inspiring read. The concepts are down-to-earth: know where your money comes from and where it's going, do your research and ask questions before making purchases, have a positive and active attitude about your finances, etc. I was often reflecting, "Yeah, that's true - I knew that." ...but it outlines the most important aspects of a simple financial strategy in a realistic and non-intimidating way. ...more

I like to teach myself as much as I can about finances, and this book was so different than others I read. It was actually enjoyable to read! I really liked the stories and the simplicity of it, but most importantly I learned new things that will help me (and can help anybody) achieve financial freedom. I highly recommend it.

Easy read with some very valuable principles to live by. So, if you want to be a millionaire, please read this book. As a women, you owe it to yourself to be financially ready for what comes your way. Do not leave your financial future to anyone else but yourself. Get educated and know how to make it happen while you are young.

I found this book both informational and enjoyable. (I suspect that is a hard balance to find in a financial book.)I liked that it was written recently (in 2009)so it is applicable to today's economy as well. This book has changed the way I think about money already!

Practical 5 helpful tactics. I always like a good list. One of the few millionaires that doesn't want to make money off of his financial self-help books. It's very similar to his 5 lessons a Millionaire taught me, with some adaptations specifically for women.

This book is totally awesome!! I really like the way Richard Paul Evans writes. This book will help you reach your financial goals. There is a lot of great advice and some really wonderful quotes. It's very motivating and to the point. I loved it!

These lessons are very similar to ones I've read of before in other money management books, but this is more simply put -- a sort of personal finances in a nutshell book. Some of the lessons have several morsels or small courses, so at some points of the book, I lost track of the 5 core lessons in the middle. However, there is not the usual minutiae that most books of this sort are full of.

Hope they take hold in my brain help make me very good at managing our finances. Or else my re...more

This audiobook was a quick listen! I would've given it three stars, but at the end of the audiobook, he peddles his online community for $10 to join and $9.95 per month. That was a turnoff! Otherwise, it was some pretty good, if not old advice.

Yep, my husband got this for me to read. I'm just waiting for him to read his version! We are on the road to financial betterness and if we did what this book says it would probably go a lot faster! Oh well.

A very, very basic book with absolutely nothing new in it at all. He's not one of my favorite fiction authors and he's definitely not one of my favorite personal finance authors either.

I enjoyed the way this book talked about money and how we think about/handle money and savings. I read this book in one evening. It was a quick read with some good tips.

Good sound financial advice in an easy to read and understand format. It gives a basic introduction to getting out of debt and planning for your financial future.

I thought this book was very informative and gave me a lot of great ideas to improve my budget and savings. I have enjoyed Richard Paul Evans other books so his writing style was appealing to me. It was nice to have a book with financial advice taking into consideration some of the special needs and concerns of women. It is a relatively short book and I would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their spending/saving habits.

Virginia
Very good. Much the same as the original, but with some female-specific advice. Now if only I could actually put this into practice...

This book is as inspiring as his first Five Lessons. And guess what? You don't have to be a woman to gain enormous benefit from it. Check it out!

Really liked a lot of his ideas about money. I tend to get grumpy when I read anything about finances, so it made me grumpy, but I will definitely use several of his suggestions. My favorite : Is that the best you can do?

This was a short easy read ...nothing like a good reminder to make good financial decisions.

Since I've read this book my husband and I actually have a shared financial goal and we have the steps we will take to get there. We never realized how much time we wasted fighting over our finances until the fighting stopped, I'm simply amazed.

My parents dubbed this Required Reading. I have been putting it off, but so far it's an easy read with a lot of really great ideas...
I have a hard time saying aloud "Today I decide to be wealthy." and that's essentially the first step. (I did say it, though...My starving artist pretense be damned.)
