I've loved him forever, but he can never be mine.

BRITTANY is determined to prove herself to the Dark Guardians. And yet she's been keeping a devastating secret: She hasn't experienced any of the intense, early signs of change that mark a Dark Guardian's transformation. The only intense feelings she has are for Connor—and she's kept that a secret, too. But she knows she'll...more

After reading the second story in this series I was unsure whether I wanted to continue reading or not. I was happy to see that the author Hawthorne gave the readers some closure in regards to Brittany's status as a Static or a Shifter. However, I found that the story was a little bit rushed, it took me an hour to read this book and I felt that the relationship that developed between Connor and Brittany was quite unbelievable. After having noted how obsessed Connor was with Lindsey in the previo...more
I thought this was incredibly cliched and cloying. I started by reading the first couple pages aloud, which made the silliness of it more obvious. If the author was trying to sound like an exceptionally romantic and melodramatic teenage girl, then she succeeded. However, the plot is fairly interesting and fast-paced.

Su transformación s...more
Well, okay. I read this book when I was twelve and even then I remember thinking, 'hell. Rachel Hawthorne really has some fetish for a bad boy.'

I mean really, it was UNBELEIVABLE. It was like Twilight, on the wolfy side of things. Frickin unbelievable. Every other paragraph went on about Connor's sexy stubble, his muscles... well it's been awhile since I've read it but I'm pretty sure I recall some instances with Brittany floundering at his muscles. And I'm definitely not risking my remaining I...more
My previous intention...? To skip over this and head straight for the next one, for Brittany irritated me far too much for me to even consider picking it up. Can one say "obsessive much"? So, that is exactly what happened, I skipped to the next book. Not until it was finished and I was left to stare at this on my bookshelf did I decide "what the heck"and begin to read. I will not say how long it took me to read-for who really cares about that?-but I will say this: I was both nuts and right for l...more
this was ok as compared to the last two dark guardian books. this one is all about the dilemma of britanny being unable to shift and falling in love with connor (who we remember from book 2 as the supposed to be mate of lindsey). as i was reading this book i thought britanny just had the fluke and later on would be able to shift into wolf form. but it turns out that she has a human dad and his genes was passed onto her...so her dreams of being a shifter, poof! gone! but at the end of it she was...more
I loved this last installment in the trilogy. Rachel Hawthorne wrote each book from the perspective of one of three heriones who are friends. In the first two books, I could not tell whether or not I would like Brittany. She was always quiet, menacing and scowling in the background. I did not get a sense of whether she was good or evil; however, this book reveals all and I must say, I truly enjoyed it. Although I know this is the end. I wonder if Hawthorne will now write another trilogy from the...more
What a disappointing third installment of this series. Somehow all the things I didn't really notice that strongly in the frst two books came forward to annyo me and even the authour herself seemed to have forgotten about her character descriptions in the first two books.

Yes, the theme of the dark, brooding, bad boy was present in all of the books and only scratched the surface of my annoyance a little but here it was omnipresent and horribly unpleasant.
First of all Connor's sudden change from...more

Each book in this series is written from different characters point of view. Book number three is written from Brittany's POV. Let me honestly say that I did not like this concept. I hated how each book changed to a different character. I was getting used to one character then another one pops up in the next book. This was my biggest pet peeve in this series and I guess that's the main reason why I didn't like t...more

This is the last book in the Dark Guardian series. The author Rachel Hawthorne has ended the series so beautifully and simple. The ending was like a fairy tale. I was so mad when I finished the book, thats how great this series is in my opinion.

This is the third book in the Dark Guardians series and this time around the story is told from Brittany's view point.

After Brittany running off without a mate for her first transformation in book two I was so anxious to find out if she survived the transformation or not!
Brittany is back after her full moon and all her friends and other shifters are so excited for her, she is the first girl to go through the transformation alone and survive for as long as anyone can remember.

The third book in the series. This time we back-track to the night of the full moon (when, in book 2, Lindsey finally made her chose between Connor and Rafe) and we see how Brittany copes with transforming alone. Remember, Dark Guardian legend foretells that when a female faces her first transformation, she will not survive if she doesn’t have a male with her.

The book starts at the point just before the transformation is to happen. Brittany is terrified as she knows she may not be alive to see t...more

This was a really great book. Rachel Hawthorne is really starting to fill out her new Shifters story with this addition. Up until now we have seen this universe through the eyes of someone who was completely new to the Shifter culture, and two that have been apart of it all their lives. I expected a similar book to Lindsey's because Lindsey and Brittany both grew up in the same world but Rachel Hawthorne continued to surprise me. Although the characters are similar in many ways, their distinctio...more
This was my second attempt at reading this book. The first time I read the book I couldn't even finish it. Granted I didn't really give it my best go, I got to page 50 and then gave up. I just had a feeling that I wouldn't like the book because she wasn't a shifter. But I wanted to read the fourth book in the series but it's not in me to skip a book so I gave this one another try and ended up really liking it. This is probably my favorite book in this series so far.

To all my firends who believe anything is possible this is the book for you. If you are a stright up, carring, loving, work hard, get to the point person but are still willing to find true love this is for you. In this book Brittany Reed is a novicence perparing to become a Dark Guardian. Only when her full moon comes her dreams are crushed. When she relizeses nothing more is going to happen she goes back to Wolford (a "secret loction" for shifters). There only Lindsey becomes a where of the trut...more

It's been quite a while since I read Moonlight and Full Moon, the 1st and 2nd books in this series. I quite enjoyed them and wasn't anticipating enjoying Dark of the Moon, it wasn't as good as the previous two books but I did enjoy it. It had some really great twist's and turn's that I didn't see coming.

I don't normally read a lot of YA novels because I've found that a lot of them are written in first person narrative and normally from the girls point of view. After a while they all start to fe...more

I happened upon this series while cruising Lycoming Mall. I hate shopping, being a get in and get out kind of gal, but when we came upon a bookstore, you know me…I had to go in. It was a nice bookstore, not a BN, but nice. I came upon the clearance rack and there was Dark of the Moon. So let’s start with what caught my eye…

Love It! The colors popped out at me. The girl staring you down grabbed my attention, demanding I turn it over to find out more.
