"From the first sentence...I was tugged into this dazzlingly real look into the life of Regency folks. I haven't read a book with such in-depth emotional, heart-wrenching and utterly sensual scenes, in a long time. "

I am only just going to begin reading this book. I love the premise.
I loved this book. I sat down to read it at about 4pm and didn't stop until I finished it, sometime before 9pm.

Very nice book. The characters were interesting and intriguing. I loved the not-so-run-of-the-mill heroine. The author obviously has some experiences with blind people because I literally felt her descriptions quite well, although, I felt sometimes that they went on too long - almost as if she expected that the book would be read to a blind person who needed the elaborate and extensive descriptions.
Overall, however, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to a person who loves More...

Lady Fortuna Morley, a woman that has suffered with being blind since her birth, has to deal with her younger cousin wanting to marry. Charles Lowden, known has Lord Granville, tries to court Fortuna's younger cousin but helplessly falls in love with Fortuna herself.
Charles is also the only person that lets Fortuna be independent. Although both Fortuna and Charles struggle in the beginning, it's a love story that makes your heart ache and your mind race.

This book is a wonderful story with a heroine who is capable, admirable and loveable. Joanna doesn't force the reader to feel sorry for Fortuna, no more than Fortuna doesn't feel sorry for herself.
Fortuna doesn't one time lament that she can't see Charles. She feels him intensely, knows him thoroughly and loves him as all women love their heroes.
Everyone who loves historical romance should read this book. It is not to be missed.

I bought this book awhile ago, and had I known how good it would be, I would've read it a lot sooner! It was beautifully written, and held my interest throughout the story. To me, the ending can make or break the story- and this one definitely made it! I loved the ending, as it didn't leave me 'wondering' at the end. It was very thorough. I look forward to more from this author!
