Here's the problem: We have a band of sexy shapeshifters who need to find the one woman who can replenish their energy so they can continue to battle against those who would wish to eliminate them. They finally find her, but she has no idea that she's important and that she's not really human.

What to do, what to do.

Thankfully, the language of sex translates into every language, so really what we need to do is get her all hot and bothered so she'll be more apt to understa...more

Oh boy. Where to begin?

First of all; this book ain't nothing but some weird rituals that involve sex, sex and lots of sex. And not in a good way. This is just weird! Sex to complete various rituals, sex to save lives, sex to rid of bad magic, sex to cleanse - you get the drift.

This book made me want to cry at how bad this story is, and it made me want to throw my Kindle at something hard. And I love my Kindle. Can't live without it. In short, this book is disturbing. How was this ever published?...more

Not a bad book, at all, especially for the first in a series. Lyon in the leader of the Ferals, the nine surviving shifters who battle evil forces to protect mankind. The survival of the Ferals, and as a result humans, depends on Lyon finding The Radiant. The Radiant is the one woman who can draw the power from the earth to fuel the Ferals in their war. Kara MacAllister has always believed she is nothing more than a plain, simple human. When Lyon tracks her down, not only does she discover that...more

If I had finished Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer, I would have given it one of the lowest grades for a book this year. I can understand how some authors are tying to ride on the coat tails of Christine Feehan or J.R. Ward, but this book that tried to channel these well know authors, reads like bad fan fiction.

Give me a TigHE… VHyper… PaentHer… ZapHene… Foxx and Wulfe.

Oh, and how could I forget the half woman, half flamingo chef they have called Pinky?

The heroine Kara, who has a normal sounding...more

I typed this whole review but GR totally ate it. I frickin hate this site sometimes.

So, the new review will be simple because I can't remember everything that I typed before. The story was a very interesting opener to the Feral Warriors series. I enjoyed the interaction between the characters and the story held my attention all the way through.

I had a few minor issues with the story though:
(1) Sex was used as a "cure-all" to seemingly everything. At a critical moment in the story, Lyon tells Ka

When you read as much PNR as I do you start to see the same themes occuring all over the place. Vampire warriors with a heart of gold, alpha shifters with control issues, betrayal from within, society structures different from the norm and a first book heroine who knows nothing about the world and so gives the author a chance to explain the world they've created.

This book isn't any different... and you know what - it really didn't matter. For a first book it wasn't bogged down in world building...more

Lyon is a member of a shapeshifting race living right under the humans' noses. In their world, one woman- The Radiant One- reigns supreme. When the current Radiant One dies the new one is "awakened" and it is Lyon's job to find her. Only he's having a difficult time of it this go around.

When he finally locates her, he's dismayed to find she knows nothing of who she truly is. But time is of the essence because an ancient enemy is resurfacing and the Therians- a race of animal shape-shifters- need...more

Take your Brothers from BDB and mix them with shifters add a cup of Sentinal Wars and you have an exciting series and not one to miss.

Description:

In Desire Untamed, Kara MacAllister thinks she's just an average, small-town pre-school teacher until the night a mysterious stranger shows up at her door claiming she's not only immortal, but the chosen one of a band of powerful shape-shifting males. Lyon steals her away from everything she knows and thrusts her into a world beyond her comprehension,...more

Ok, so I had high expectations to this book but it didn't live up to it.
I read one mess after another and I just couldn't take it anymore.

First of all, I know Lyon manipulated Kara's emotions and such, but who would be so focused on a hot guy with her dead mother right beside her?
That's just wrong!

And how ridiculous it is that everytime he touches her, Kara orgasms?

And can we just talk about how he just manipulated her over and over again and not just her emotions? What the hell? The man opens t...more

Do I rate a book on quality or subjective enjoyment? And how many stars is crack worth? Because this one? Hoo boy. I enjoyed the crap out of it, for all the wrong reasons and scarfed it up, all while realizing that it is, without question, a, uh, not good book. I settled on a grudging 2-stars.

To enumerate all the problems I had with Desire Untamed would probably take me longer to type out than it took me to read it. It's ridiculous, verges on--and sometimes flat out IS--offensive, horrifying in...more

First of all, can we all take a moment to drool over that amazing and nude cover photo? I'll wait while everyone goes and gets a napkin to clean up.

Okay, now that we have that out of our system, let us talk about the story behind that cover. I was a little confused at first just because you have to keep track of the many Feral Warriors that are introduced in the first chapter. While their names give you the clue in what animal they become, there still is quite a few of them that you have to reme...more

This book was such an emotional roller coaster! The story opens up with a short stint with the Ferals, but then jumps right to Kara’s life-changing night, when Lyon shows up and takes her home with him, whether she likes it or not. She’s heart-broken over the life she left, utterly terrified of the unknown before her, and completely addicted to her kidnapper. While Lyon tries to reassure Kara and make her comfortable, he knows how much the Ferals need her to assume her role as their Radiant, and...more

Five millennia ago, The Therian race of shapeshifters joined forces with their magic-wielding enemies, the Mage, to defeat and imprison the High Daemon, Satanan and his horde.

Their duty is to protect the race, to hunt and destroy the draden, and most importantly, to guard the Daemon blade, in which Satanan are imprisoned.

They are the Feral Warriors.

I really enjoyed this first in a series story. Led by Lyon, the Feral Warriors are the last (nine) of the Therian race of shapeshifters. They need a...more

I could not put this book down and even had to sleep in the spare bedroom because I could not turn the light out and put it down. I woke up the next morning and finished it. It was that good! P.P. is one of my new favorite authors now.

I was blown away by the world that Pamela Palmer has written about. Kara MacAllister is not only real emotionally, but her reactions and communications with the feral shape-shifters seem as they would if this was a real world. She was a strong woman in the face of...more

Ok I think I'm hooked. I truly love true alpha males and all the Feral Warriors are alphas in spades. I believe I am mostly intriqued with Hawke and Jag but since this is about Lyon, I'll give him his due.

Kudos Palmer on hashing out Lyon. He has all the traits of a very great leader. He has integrity and honor. He's not afraid to take one for his men and would put himself on the line before he would allow one of them. He's compassionate but maintains his authority. The ultimate go thrives becau...more

The first of a new series called the Feral Warriors, this SMOKIN' HOT book does a fantastic job of setting up Pamela's new paranormal world. She didn't bog the story down in setting up the details, instead she let them unfold as the story progresses. You learn new insight alongside the heroine Kara as she discovers her destiny.

I'm very happy to say this book includes many types of shape-shifters. Normally, one particular breed is the main type of shape-shifter in a series, but the Feral Warriors...more

Not a bad read. Yes, it does remind me of the Black Dagger Brothers, due to the warriors names. Which, can I be honest? WHY on earth would you name your characters their animal names, only trying to be different by adding an 'H' or an extra "x" I mean really? Will it hurt their reputations if you name them something normal like Cade? Xavier? Anything but Lyon, Paenther, Hawke... Bleh. OK that being said, I found that the comparisons ended at the names for similarities between this PNR and other...more

I have discovered there is a specific in the paranormal romance genre that I like most. It is the group of warriors fighting for the greater good. Thus you have the good versus evil. Add a mate/lover/a significant other that another character cannot live without. I do love the chest pounding mine, mine, mine. Thrown in fighting evil and a major ending battle with a happily ever after. These are always my favorites amongst this genre. There are many ways to make each different series unique thou...more

This is a new author for me, and I wasn't sure what to expect.. Turns out I loved this book! I loved the instant attraction between Lyon and Kara, loved the fact that the Pairing doesn't go as planned, and loved the other Feral Warriors, who were all(ok, mostly) verrrrrry hot.. Can't wait to read about the rest of them! I'm going straight to Tighe's story now:-)

I'd say a must read for any warrior brotherhood fans:-) Think Alexis Morgan/Lara Adrian but for shapeshifters:-)

Yet another book that I had a hard time coming up with how many stars to give it. I think 3.5 would be a better rating. I enjoyed the book, like the characters well enough and the plot kept me turning the pages but there were just some things that were pretty hokey and made me laugh when they shouldn't have made me laugh so I couldn't give it five stars.

In the first few pages the Feral Warriors are performing a ceremony. The first guy cuts his hand and makes a fit then passes the knife off to t...more

This is the first in the series by by Pamela Palmer. It is the story of Kara a pre school teacher who is currently taking care of her dying mother. Along comes Lyon a Therian Feral Warrior to retrieve Kara and bring her back to Feral Headquarters. It appears that Kara is the "Radiant". A being that gives the warriors back thier energy that allows them to fight The Mage and the draden who are thier enemies. The problem is, Kara has no idea she is the Radiant, and winds up being kidnapped by Lyon...more

This, the first in Palmer's Feral Warrior paranormal romance series, begins with "One woman, in all the world, held the key to the survival of life on Earth. And they'd lost her." What an awesome way to begin a series.

Nine sexy alpha shape shifting, mostly immortal, warrior males - all well over 6 ft tall, Therians, mages, draden (remnants of daemons), a Radiant, rituals, betrayal and a daemon blade make for lots of action and romance.

Kara, the heroine, is a short (5'5") preschool teacher who...more

I love reading books where the author has a group of warriors (any kind) and they have a bond and trust. When this book had this, I had to read it. But I was solely disappointed. This book didn't have that at all. I mean, one of the guys slept with on of the other guys girlfriends-soon to be mate! And he and a few of the others were complete a-holes. It was ridicules. And the plot was just horrible. The only reason why it has one star was because when I first started I was sucked in, because I l...more

DESIRE UNTAMED by Pamela Palmer, first in the Feral Warriors series is out June 30th, 2009! I discovered Pamela Palmer's books with her Nocturne series (I recommend these too!). So when I saw this series coming too along with her time travels as Pamela Montgomerie I've been elated since!

The Feral Warriors are a race of 9 surviving Therians. Therians are an immortal shape shifters that are out there to protect their race as well as humans from Daemons. Daemons are evil! They try to take the powe...more

OK, I know the whole paranormal thing is going crazy right now, and who needs another book about shapeshifters, demons, etc. But let me say, this book is different. I know, I know. You've heard that before. But what makes this true for this series is the fact that details of the shapeshifter world, the villains, and the heroes, are so clear and well written that they become real to you. And I can say that there are a lot of authors right now just jumping on the gravy train. Ms. Palmer is not a g...more
