The Possessed, the second volume in L. J. Smith's Dark Visions trilogy, picks up right where the first left off. Precog Kaitlyn Fairchild has fled the mysterious Zetes Institute along with fellow students Anna, Lewis, Sexy Boy #1 (also known as Rob), and Sexy Boy #2 (also known as Gabriel). This is a road trip novel, tracing our band of teen psychics up the west coast in search of a mysterious white house that has been appearing in Kaitlyn's dreams. The pacing is quick here, effective, and the s...more

Co se vám vybaví, když někdo řekne jméno této autorky? L.J.Smith.

The second book Possessed pick up where the last book ended Kaitlyn, Gabriel, Rob, Lewis and Ana are five psychic teenagers who are on the run because an institution is after them with the intention of using them for evil. Now, they set out on a journey to find the house of their dreams where finally they could be safe. But the journey brings them danger and to a discover about Gabriel that will threaten to strain their friendship. With no direction of where they are going and with danger lurkin...more
A potom prišiel druhý diel.
A okrem toho potrebujem dohnať moje resty v ročnej GR challenge. Ale inak je to "full of bullshit". Seriózne. Upírske denníky cez kopirák, len tam nie je Stefan, Damon a Elena, ale Rob, Gabriel a Kaytlin. Jaj a magické pozadie. Ale aj to je úplne bullshitoidné. Totál...more
The story continues with The Possessed and it just gets darker all the time. There are some really strange revelations here, like the slime trails, and the peculiar group of people in Washington who wont lift a finger to help them (although they were called there to be helped by them).

This book wasn't so good, but it was obviously one of those tie-in novels between The Beginning and The Final Battle.
Kaitlyn, Rob, Gabriel, Anna, and Lewis have escaped Mr. Zetes and the institute. After they had uncovered that Mr. Z was planning on using them physic weapons they fled. They are now on the road in search of a white house that they had seen in Kait's dream, but because of their link that Gabriel had caused (from being a telepath) they shared the dream. They also meet a girl named Lydia. She seems like a normal teenager, until her last name is revealed, Zetes. When they are convinced she will not...more

The Possessed is the second book of the Dark Visions trilogy by L.J. Smith.

Kaitlyn, Rob, Gabriel, Anna, and Lewis are running away from the Zetes Institute. They are still bound by the link that Gabriel inadvertently created during the first book. They are not for sure where they are going, but one night, all of them share a dream of a beach with a white house in the distance. Several times they share this dream and ask who they are and where are they. They decide to find where the place is. On...more

The Possessed by LJ Smith is the second book in a trilogy, the Dark Visions trilogy.
I gave the first book, The Strange Power a 3/5, and gave the same to this novel.

Here is a spoiler synopsis and overview of the novel:

The gang knows something is seriously wrong with the Institute, Mr. Zetes and Joyce- so they are planning to run away and expose the evil they are discovering. Mr. Zetes essentially wants to "...turn them into psychic weapons and sell them to the highest bidder." A fight scene bet...more

I strangely found The Possessed less exciting than The Strange Power. However, I couldn't put it down and I ended up finishing the book in about a day.

The book starts exactly where the first novel left off. The five teenagers continue their search do the white house, desperately trying to find someone who could help them with everything that's been going on with them and especially with Gabriel. The book basically talks more and more about their powers and their abilities. New characters are i...more

My main problems with the last book were the Rob-Kait relationship, the twists in the story and the supporting characters.

The problems remain.
I don't see how in psychic-bond, were minds are linked is even possible to have supporting characters. It just doesn't fit. That Lewis and Anna are not that dominant makes them seem uninteresting people. The whole idea of a dangerous road-trip with being in each others minds is fantastic. It's a pity that other than the Gabriel-Kait thing it's utterly bor...more

After being thoroughly disappointed by the first novel in L.J. Smith’s Dark Visions trilogy, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the sequel to The Strange Power proved to be an engaging read. The Possessed picked up right where its predecessor left off with Kaitlyn, Anna, Rob, Gabriel, and Lewis fleeing from the Institute. This time, they were hoping to make it to the mysterious location they kept seeing in their joint dream and hoped that the people who lived in the...more
The Possessed is book two of L.J. Smith's Dark Visions series - as if you didn't know that already - and I'd have to say that I didn't like this book as much as the first, The Strange Power. But I feel like that's to be expected when the majority of it is just the day-to-day journey of five teens on the run.

Kaitlyn Fairchild and her four friends are gifted with psychic powers and are attempting to escape from those that wish to exploit them - off and away to fend for themselves. Their only hint...more

The possessed is the second book from Dark Visions trilogy by L. J. Smith. I liked it more than book one. It is full of suspense and it is not hallow like the first.
The book starts from the end of THE STRANGE POWERS there is no time jump. They are running from MR. Z and looking for the white house in order to seek help from them. They face a lot of struggles most important that they don't know where the white house...more

V prvej časti nás autorka zaviedla do tajomného Zatesovho inštitútu pre študento...more

"If You've Got Darkness in Your Nature, You Might as Well Enjoy It..."

One of the beneficial side effects of the sudden surge in paranormal teen romance is that Lisa Jane Smith's novels have been republished. They were essential reading material in my adolescence and getting the chance to reread them in my twenty-something-hood has been lots of fun. Supernatural creatures, love triangles, empowered heroines, a solid story, and clear narrative with just a hint of purple prose are the staple ingred...more
I liked the first book in the series and couldn't wait to read the second. While I found the second one to be enjoyable I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book.

I think the characters were developed quite a bit more in this book than the first book and I didn't really like the way any of them acted. All of the characters seemed to annoy me. Even Gabriel who I had started to like in the first book.

However, the story line was really interesting. I look forward to the continuation of it in the l...more

This book was in the bundle of books I was buying at a booksale. I didn't even know I bought it till I got home.
When I started reading, I thought it would be some creepy boring story. My book cover's different but I couldn't find it in the editions. Heh.
It was amazing! One of my favorite books of all time. I lost count of the times I read it. I think part of the reason why I like it so much is Gabriel Wolfe. Ok, a big part!
He is like the perfect male lead for young adult supernatural stories....more
4 stars. I love me some road tripping.

I will be reviewing the entire series at once when I finish reading the omnibus.

Velmi zajímavé pokračování. U mě o něco lepší než první díl.

This was another great book of series. A lot of things happen in this book. There is a lot of suspense. The students are trying to escape Mr. Zetes the man who is trying to turn them into weapons or kill them. This one is better than first. I definitely recommend reading this one. The students show up at the house of protection and learn many secrets. They learn about their race and the mysterious crystal. They also are attacked by other people of their own race. Join them in the escape from Mr....more

Nejvíc mě bavily chvíle s Kait a Gabrielem. I když Kait si pořád mele svou ohledně Roba, kterej u mě v žebříčku moc vysoko není.
cute story that brings you right along with the characters.
