Interesting history always inspires me to read more on the same topic. The challenge here is that much of the work cited is in German. My German just isn't up to reading academic history for more than a sentence or two. Most of the essays in this collection were strong and on-topic. Whaley's essay on federalism in the Holy Roman Empire suffered somewhat by being more historiographical critique than its own thing.
