Artist heroine comes back to hometown to do the artwork for Hero's family's new wine. She expects Hero to be cold & distant towards her b/c of how she left him 11 yrs ago but was surprised at his warm reception, Hero is open about his desire to pursue his attraction towards her & expects their affair to be temporary, given heroine's flightiness. But heroine has also made some changes & knows she has an uphill climb towards convincing hero about a more permanent r/s.

I didn't realise this was part of a continuity series when I picked this up - they tend not to work for me, and this one didn't really stand alone, I think. I could see hints of Wilks' later writing style here, so did find it interesting to see what has/hasn't changed over the years.
Decent start to the whole Ashton series. I haven't read these novel in any order though.
