Wow, what a book! This story held me captive right from the beginning and kept me there till the very end! I read this book in almost two sittings. This story in an "on the edge of your seat" suspense/romance/western. It was fun, sexy, romantic and heart warming. I was even in tears a couple times! I found it very hard to stop reading. Even while I was knitting I was thinking about the book and wanted to put my knitting aside (and there is not too many books that will do that). And, big surpris ...more
2 stars. Book number 9 of the Texas Brands. The story of Luke Brand (a cousin of the “original” Texas Brands) and Jasmine Jones (a Chicago girl with a son, Baxter). The reason I did not like this book? The heroine, Jasmine, was annoyingly prickly, non-trusting, and hard to like. The plot was boring and predictable, in my opinion, Jasmine and her son, are on the run after witnessing a murder. The murder unfortunately is a bad cop. The romance? Didn’t feel like there was any. There was one love s ...more

Luke Brand is the illegitimate cousin of the Texas Brands. Although he knew he had a rather large family, he never intended to look them up until his mentor and friend Buck died alone. Luke drives his big-rig to Quinn, Texas to meet the family he never knew. What he didn't expect was to find the home he never had and now he doesn't intend on leaving.
Jasmine plans to run straight in and back out of the club where she works as an exotic dancer. Unfortunately, she and her son witness the murder of
Luke Brand is a member of the huge Brand family but he has never met them. He is their illegitimate cousin that none of them know about. Luke was content living with only his mother who taught him they didn't need anybody else to have a good life. But when his good friend and mentor, Buck, died alone, Luke starting to realize that being alone was not necessarily the best way to live. He happened to get a load to Quinn, Texas with his transport truck, which happened to be where many of his cousin ...more

This was such a fun story! Maggie Shayne writes wonderful books. The story incorporated suspense and romance in a great storyline. It made me want to read the other books in the series, so I just downloaded "The Littlest Cowboy." I love the way family is the most important aspect of "Texas Homecoming" and how the H/h, although total opposites, were perfect for each other. The patience of Luke Brand (H) made him a true hero in my book, and what he did for Jasmine sealed the deal. And just when I ...more

Wow! Fantastic book! It'll keep you on the edge of your seats until the end.
Luke is a great hero and I loved the way he decided to change his way of life and put down roots, getting to know a family he didn't know he had. I love the Brand clan, every single member brings something to the story. At some point I wanted to be a part of that family too!
Jasmine is a fantastic heroine. She's been through a lot but she's ready to do anything to make her son happy and make him feel loved. Baxter, her so
Very Heart Touching In A Good Way

I swear this book had my with tears
Jasmine is on the run with her young son and finds a house that belongs to her friend
But when she gets there things change she meats Luke who absolutely has her turning in. All kinds of ways.
Her son hS found not only a friend in Luke but as close to A Dad as he will ever have.
I really should stop before I run the story.
Miss Shayne has done this one real
good in all the Brand nobles I have not Shed a tear but this one was good
Great start, terrible ending

I started out really enjoying the book, but then I really felt it began to drag. Jasmine's refusal to tell anyone what's going on or ask for help just got to be way too much. As the story begins to come to an ending, it became so very unbelievable and just kept going and going. By the time we finally got our HEA, I was grateful that the story was over.

This book has been updated and is now listed as Texas Homecoming. This is a good story about a two people who really need family. Luke was raised well but within the confinements of an overbearing mother. He doesn't know what he is missing in his life until he connects with his extended family. The Brands are a devoted group of family members that put family first above all. Once Luke is with them he knows for certain what he wants, his own family. Jasmine, and her son, are on the run and end up ...more

I found the first book in this series available for free and thought, "Why not try it!" I was spellbound and have finished all 9 books in less than a week. I loved every
Minute of each book. Thank you Maggie Shane for incredibly riveting books.

Brand new home

This series is what family is all about. It shows the struggles, love, and hard work that families do for one another. I have yet to find one that is not an adventure in keeping love and family happiness going. Wonderful stories all of them.

Texas Homecoming

I couldn't put it down. I knew it would be good by the very first page. It was awesome and exciting all the way to the end.
I don't usually read romance novels, but I needed to read a book set in Texas, so I randomly picked this one. It was actually pretty good. There was a murder and witnesses on the run and shooting, so that made it more interesting for me. I might even read another one in this series!
it was a cute book. I didn't realize I read it out of order. I don't think I will go back and read the others but I may read the future books
Luke was not the typical leading man but very likable. The story had potential but was just ok. Could have been better. Ok for a free book.
2.5 stars.

This is book 9 in a series and the first one I have read. I just discovered Maggie Shayne when I read the Brown and De Luca series. I really liked the books so when Texas Homecoming was offered free I could not resist. I enjoyed the story and the Brand family. They were too good to be true but were very fun to read. I liked the way a crime in Chicago was worked into the story about a family in Texas. All in all a fun read and if it is still free pick it up.
Loved this book. Jasmine's son sees a man being murdered by a dirty cop and they flee to Texas and the adventure begins. Luke helps them and the story just gets better. Family loyalty and friendship help her find a family and a home. Love, suspense, and a few lol moments make this a great read.

This book has all you need to keep reading...a good love story, suspense, and a family that sticks together! Jazz is on the run with her son after witnessing a murder, but what she finds is family and a home!
No thanks! Too graphic!

I loved this book. I love Maggie Shayne.
Found this book slow to start with, but once you get into it, it becomes interesting and sucks you into storyline

Probably my favorite book of the series. I loved the lesson in family since I feel a little closer to my family. The ending was predictable though which I could say for all of them.

I live in the teeny, tiny town of Taylor, NY, (Alliteration Alert!) though my mailing address is Cincinnatus, my telephone exchange is Truxton and I pay taxes and vote in Cuyler. All of these are at least in the same rural county in the southern hills of New York State; Cortland County. There are more cattle than people here.
