“Put away the wiggles. Put away the giggles. Listening works better when your body’s calm and still.” When it’s time for young children to listen closely, this book sets the tone. They discover that it’s important to open their eyes and ears but to close their mouths (“zip it, lock it, put it in your pocket”) so good listening can begin.

I read this book to a group of children age 0-3. It was slightly above their heads, however it still worked for us.

This is a great book for kids who are about ready to go to pre-school who need to learn some of the protocol for simmering down and listening in groups. It is funny, there are alot of rhymes, the pictures are great--simple and yet not too simple, and it makes the whole process of sitting still and not talking seem like a game.

My daughter and I read this book over and over to help her understand the value of listening..... it is a great way to approach the subject with toddlers and young preschoolers.

I'm getting ready to send my little one to a daycare/preschool, so I thought this would be good to help her start understanding listening (she's two). Very simple text and we read it often!
