This is the third book in this series, and although I don't think that it was as good as the first two, it was still pretty good. I like that these series always ends off on a point that leaves you hanging and wanting to read the next book. They give away a little to make you interested, but they don't tell you everything right away. Another thing that I really like about this book is that there is always something that the main character has to fix, or something she has learned about themselves...more
Girls that Growl by Mari Mancusi is the third book in the Blood Coven Vampire series. This book again follows Rayne the Vampire Slayer as she is forced to infiltrate the cheerleading squad to find out why their football player boyfriends have gone missing. Rayne makes the cheerleading squad and find that the cheerleaders have been turned into werewolves. Through all of this Rayne's relationship with Jareth is on rocky ground and her life is slowly spinning out of control.

In the third installment of the Blood Coven series we join Rayne again as something new....A Vampire...A Vampire Vampire Slayer but not only that..a cheerleader???? I know what your thinking Rayne a cheerleader? yeah right! but its true...at least half true, this is all part of another Slayer inc assignment you see someone has complained about hearing growling coming from the girls locker room and two star football players have disappeared without a trace. As if that wasn't enough she has other...more
When we first met Rayne McDonald, she was getting ready to become a vampire, only to have those dreams taken away from her when the guy who was supposed to transform her bit her twin sister instead. Then she discovered that her destiny wasn't to become a vampire but to slay the bad ones. So she then joined Slayer, Inc. to fulfill her destiny, only to have one of her missions bite back -- literally. And the vampire who bit her, Maverick, infected her with a virus, and the only way to be saved was...more
The narrator talks like she’s walking thru the mall with her best friend, which I find annoying at times. We’re all different, though, and this may be what makes you really like this book.
While the plot was decent and kept me entertained, it wasn’t my favorite read. It’s a short book, so you can probably get thru this in a few hours. I found it somewhat interesting that the author seemed to be sending good messages throughout the book, but then at one point Rayne start smoking, claiming she want...more

The Blood Coven- Series is one I enjoyed right from the beginning. The idea of Goth-girl Rayne and how she wants to become a vampire was really interesting but nothing that really stood out of the crowd of vampire-books. And that crowd is big these days.
The Protagonists of this books, Rayne and Sunny McDonald are of course lovely. I mean, the names? Just cute.
When Rayne finally has the chance to become a vampire, things start to go down. The Bloodmate she shall have, the hot Vampireleader Magnu...more

I'm still enjoying this cute and fluffy series, but this one seemed a little "off". We're still narrated by Rayne (which makes me happy) but the whole premise of her blog/journal is completely gone. Instead it's just a story in first person, which didn't really fit with the 2nd book. In addition, she is much more annoying about her Goth proclamations in this one.

Mari added another paranormal creature in this book, the werewolves. It was interesting at first, with Rayne blackmailing the cheer-leading team captain who was once her BFF to get into the group. Not that she likes it, she just wants to find out the truth behind the mysterious disappearances of two football players. I was a little perturbed by the way she treats Jareth in this book. She is spiteful and irritable, and no matter what Jareth does, she feels that he is stupid and does not act like...more
Girls That Growl is the 3rd book in the Blood Coven Vampire novels by Mari Mancusi. This one is again in Rayne’s point of view. She’s an official vampire slayer for Slayer Inc. but she’s technically supposed to be in retirement from it now that she’s a vampire herself. But Mr. Teifert the U.S. Senior Vice President of Slayer Inc. has other plans for her until the new replacement is properly trained. It has been reported that the cheerleaders at Oakridge High School have been heard growling and t...more
The 3rd book in The Blood Coven Novel has Rayne who has (YES!!) gotten her wish in becoming a Vampire thanks to her Blood Mate Jareth. Rayne without any choice from Slayer Inc is being and I mean forced to become what would make any normal blood reded teenager happy. (Get it Blood Reded) LOL ..Rayne is given the mission to become wait for it.. wait for it.. (Cheerleader!!) I mean yeah I was friends with them when I was in school but having to dress up in those outfits "uggh" no way no how. Rayne...more
My least favorite book in the whole series. This book seems like a filler episode that bore me. Rayne, the main character, was sent on a mission because members of the football team were missing. Rayne is a vampire slayer which is why she has to take on the job. To find out what happened to the football players, Rayne must joined the cheerleading team. Rayne is a goth like girl, therefore she is not cheerleading material but she was forced to do so anyways.

As with the other books in the Blood Coven Vampire series, this one starts out with a recap of the previous book. Yes my friends, that means that even if you happened to pick this book up out of sequence, you'd still know what is going on. Isn't that fabulous? I thought so! Of course you'd then want to go and pick up the other two books before this. I'm sure you'd be craving more Magnus, more Rayne and much much more Jareth. Sexy vampires anyone?

Rayne McDonald is a goth, vampire-slaying, vampire who’s bosses at Slayer inc. has just told her that she has to try out for the cheerleading squad. I’ll wait while you count the number of things wrong with that sentence. Football players are starting to disappear and the prime suspects are the cheerleading squad. But this is no ordinary cheer squad, these cheerleaders, shake pom-poms, cheer, and howl at the moon. That’s right the cheerleaders are a pack of werewolves. It’s up...more

Oh this Rayne...I don't think she'll ever stop surprising me: First a vampire slayer, and now a vampire?? A vampire vampire slayer? She's got quite a few titles there, now doesn't she?
Her next assignment as the slayer: figure out why the cheerleading squad has been heard...growling. Very, very strange. What Rayne must do: infiltrate the squad to find out what the heck is going on.....in other words, she has to join the cheerleading team O.O *gasp* I know... Rayne...more

THIS WEEK MY TOTAL WAS 3HRS 10/10/11
10/18/11-10/22/11 Total for this week is 2hrs and 30 mins.
Rayne gets really sick because she had gotten infected with the disease that the evil vampire was trying to spread and kill all of the vampires in charge so that he could be the leader of all of them. Magnus almost got infected because the guy had gotten Magnus's blood donors infected. If Magnus were to drink the blood then he would of gotten really sick lost all of his powers and die. I can't say it enough.. I love this series! Another great addition to the series, Girls that Growl is funny, action packed, and of course a whole lot fun with some pretty hot vamps and some kick butt heroines. I just can't get enough.
Long Story Short:
Rayne is now a vampire slaying no powers vamp and she is given a mission, she must become a cheerleader. haha... now that is funny. Something strange is going on with the cheerleaders and boys are disappearing. Rayne is given the task to joi...more

youch lol, I didnt think it was possible for one of these books to get more then three stars! But yet again I am blown away by the most unlikly book.
It seems strange, I am shocked! I read this book because I wanted something fluffy with no meaning. Yes it was still fluffy but this book went deeper. I actually started to feel something other than the urge to laugh at how light the books is.
this book was still pradictable, but not in a bad way like the others. One thing I didnt like though was the...more

In the third installment of Mancusi's Blood Coven Vampire series, Rayne is faced with her biggest challenge yet. As "the slayer", her newest task is to figure out why it is that the cheerleading squad is growling. In order to do so she must get close to the cheerleaders, and as ANY teenager knows, the only way to get close to a cheerleader is to BE a cheerleader! Rayne seeks out her sister Sunny's help in a “prep” makeover so that she can try out for the cheerleading squad in hopes of becoming o...more

I really enjoyed this installment in the Blood Coven series more than the last. I found the characters to be more developed and the plot had more of a push to it.
I really found myself enjoying this book a lot more. I felt the plot had a point to reach and a bit more motive behind it than the previous book. There were several sub plots all going at once, and I really liked that.

Heads and tails (har har) better than Boys That Bite. Rayne isn't anywhere near as insufferable as Sunny was and holy crap! She's smart and deep! Yay for substance! Aside from the fact that she could be a downright bitch for no reason other than to keep up her Goth girl image, there's no doubt you get to see her morph into a better person throughout the course of the book. There's more going on in her head than going to prom with some jock guy and she's torn between more than extremely superfici...more

I thought that this book was good at the beginning, but then sometime during the middle of the book I lost interest. I dont know why but I think the book just disinterested me. It actually took me five times to finish reading this book and each time I started at the beginning. Every time I read this book I always stopped at the same part. Overall, I gave this book a three, because it is actually a good book but the fact that it took me five times to read is ridiculous.
Mr. Teifert, the drama teacher tells Rayne she has to infiltrate the cheerleading squad. Why? because Mike Stevens the captain of the football team goes missing and the cheerleaders have been heard growling. This excerpt made me laugh: when Rayne tries out for the squad she makes a little cheer for her former BF. "We've got it made, we're gonna win the race, I have a video of you with braces and a bad perm from seventh grade that I'm gonna post on myspace!"
Here it goes again for Rayne. Like they say:If it wasn't for bad luck, she'd have no luck at all.So once again being a Slayer,Rayne is forced into doing something that's completely out of character for her to do.Then the unexpected happens to her. And for Sunny??Major desition time for her......Mari has one heck of a imagnation. She's added something you would'nt expect for a vampire book.No words can I say to express how good"Girls That Growl" is.
