This is a really, really good book for anyone who is needing or just enjoys learning about crocodiles. It offers a lot of information but it written in more of a story like ton. The illustrations are also phenomenal and very helpful. There is even more detailed information at the end of the book too along with a DVD. The illustrations add a lot to the book.
Arnosky does a good job in describing his hunt for the crocodile in Florida's Everglades. I like that he counted and described each of the 20 crocs he found. I really felt like I was right there, learning about the animal right along with the author and his wife. The paintings were nice but I wonder if photographs would have been better.
Fascinating info on American crocodiles, who live mostly down in Florida, and should not be confused with alligators. Arnosky and his wife spent several weeks observing and counting these reptiles. His lush paintings of crocs fill the book along with other native animals of Florida. Arnosky continues to turn out outstanding nature books.

Jim Arnosky and his wife searched for crocodiles in the Florida Everglades. Their explorations provided the material for the double-page spreads of Arnosky's paintings of the swamps and the crocodiles they located. Arnosky is an outstanding nature/wildlife illustrator and this book follows in that tradition.

This book is about crocodiles and their habitats. It is written in simple language so students will be able to understand.

Themes: crocodiles, habitats, wildlife, endangered species.

This could be used when talking about habitats and different animals.
This is a fun informational text that takes readers on a Safari through the Everglades of Florida. In the book, readers learn about crocodiles and alligators, their differences and their lifestyles.

I've never been too interested in crocodiles (or alligators) but this was really excellent. I love the story-telling style. Great info and good drawings.
This book was fantastic! The illustrations were awesome! Not much more that is amazing as the crocodile!
I really like how Arnosky's books are turning more into details of his research trips.
