Shelves:
Pretty weak stuff. Difficult style to read. No bill bryson in spite of the claim. Bryson works because he's concise, clever, witty, humourous, broad and easy to read. He doesn't use crazy long rambly sentences, isn't self-obsessive or a little englander.

And how come the trades council doesn't get involved - all the claims and mentions of the 6k length of the journey... he did less than half and packed it in. That's fine and a fantastic achievement in its own right, but why don't they say 2.5k of

The fact the writer has managed to conjure such a funny travelogue after going through such a harsh personal ordeal is great testament to his writing ability.

Equally, the way he has turned Europe's North Sea hugging outposts into interesting destinations is another skill in itself.

Quirky, laugh out loud funny at times and all in all a great read that you don't have to be a two wheeler to enjoy.

For anyone that has suffered from anxiety or depression, as I have, it also packs an added bonus of ins

Interesting journey, both for the cyclist who is struggling with inner demons, and through the coastal regions of some of continental Europe. Engaging as a travelogue and as a manual of how to deal with the various visissitudesof a cycling trip.
