There is a bittersweetness to this book. Both characters must deal with a variety of emotions. Grief, anger, fear, love and happiness. Watching Vance and Dillon's relationship blossom from friends to lovers was a very enjoyable read to say the least.

Liked this one even though the suspense bit was obviously chucked in just add another unnecessary flavor. Vance and Keith's characters were enough to hold their own in a non-suspense and the teeny bit of paranormal in the form of the psychic old man busking on the sidewalk was a nice touch. That's saying a lot for me since I generally dislike paranormal goings-on but in this case, it fitted and was a light touch.

This is an interesting story about voyeurism. Dillon watched his neighbor Vance made love with Jake from his window almost every night. He was also the owner of the delivery company that Vance sometimes used so he didn't want to complicate things.
When Jake took a job somewhere else without asking Vance to go with him, they broke up. Vance tried to send a goodbye package to Jake, but he'd moved out without new address. Dillon delivered the package back to Vance, and they just clicked. Vance, howe More...

I enjoyed the characters but the story was a little too much. So many things happen that I felt like I was always trying to keep up. Dillon spied on Vance and his lover through the window. Dillon wants to meet him and finally gets the reason when a package entrusted to his messenger company comes back as undeliverable. Dillon and Vance hit is off and they start a relationship. Now, if the story just continued with this storyline I think it would have been great... but, then there was a ghost, an More...

Vance Keith is a successful advertising executive in New York City and has been having a passionate, intense relationship with his latest lover, Jake. Jake and Vance have been sending cards, letters and gifts to each other through a messenger service, owned by Vance’s neighbor Dillion.
Jake and Vance break up after Jake takes a new job in LA, prompting Vance to send one last package to his now-ex lover, but it ends up on Dillion’s desk as undeliverable. Dillion uses this as a chance to meet the m More...

Just started this last night but I couldn't get into it. The beginning was extremely slow and by the time the heroes finally met I was annoyed enough to stop reading. I will pick it up again when I'm in a more tolerant mood.

4 Stars!! "A delightful read with a slight twist of suspense to give it extra flavor. ... The Messenger took me on an unexpected but very welcome journey with enough paranormal and thriller twists in the path to keep me fixated and avidly turning pages to get to the end..."-- Emmy, Reviews by Jessewave

A sweet take on voyeurism: a neighbor who constantly (mostly accidentally) sees into someone's house has to take the steps to meet said person. Though it sounds semicreepy, the characters never really come across as such, but instead are sweet and cute and loveable.
