This is the last book in the Time Traveling Twins series by Diane Stanley. We've already read the first two books, so unfortunately we're finished with the series. We read Roughing It on the Oregon Trail just recently and Joining the Boston Tea Party over four years ago, so our girls don't remember that one. We might have to read it again.

We really liked this book about Thanksgiving. My kids liked the idea of using their new vocabulary at the Thanksgiving table this year... please pass the pudding (stuffing)... may I have the sallet herbs (vegetables)... when do we get pompion pie (pumpkin pie). I really like the author's note which explained the origin of the "Thanksgiving" holiday and that what we call Thanksgiving was really a harvest celebration. Informative book.
This is a good story to read around Thanksgiving time. Liz and Lenny and their grandmother travel back to Plymouth Plantation in 1621. It will give the students a sense of what the first Thanksgiving celebration was like and the various foods that was eaten.
