This book is well on its way to becoming a true children's classic. Early reviews of the story and the "tickle me" concept are creating a very positive reaction from everyone that reviews the book. The story is about a loveable rascal that has just flown in from Planet Tickle. His mission is to tickle any child who happens to follow along in this book. Parents read aloud a...more

This is the story about the Tickle Monster who came from Planet Tickle. He has one goal- and that is to bring joy and laughter to the world. The story has great rhymes and such a positive feeling that it is hard not to be happy when you are reading this story. One of my favorite lines in the book is, “I’m all in a tizzy, quite frizzy and dizzy, My fingers are squiggly, your piggies are wiggly." This is just one example of how the author creates silly words and a lighthearted feeling. I would not...more

I really enjoyed this silly book! When I was growing up my mom would always play "tickle monster" and I always had so much fun. This book can probably relate to most children and makes them laugh. The illustrations were brightly colored yet simple- very fitting for the book. I also enjoyed the rhyming in the book. As well as the illustrations and plot I liked how the book used made up names for each body party being tickled such as "armpitty" this really gave the story a light, silly feel. Overa...more

We discovered this book while in Park City, UT for our anniversary getaway. It was the perfect thing to bring home for our 2 1/2 year old. He LOVES it! The pictures are darling and the rhyming story is fun. You MUST get the tickle mitts to go along with the book, although you really only need one mitt since your other hand has to try to hold the book steady while you have a giggling, squirming child on your lap. It's the perfect book for toddlers and parents to enjoy together!

I bought this book at Three Little Monkeys, a children's specialty toy shop. It was recommended to me by the store clerk. I bought it for my 3 year old for her birthday.

I think this book is very, very cute and when used with the Tickle Monster mitts, as recommended, it is very interactive. It was a total hit with both my 3 year old and 7 year old.

I rarely review Children's books because we read so many of them but I felt this deserved a special review.

My daughter LOVES this book. We got the "tickle monster laughter kit" with a pair of Tickle Monster gloves with the fingers cut off so we can tickle each other. It's wonderful! My girl is obsessed with tickling now, and loves to read this book over and over. The pictures are adorable, and the rhyme scheme is adorable.

This was a cute interactive book. It comes with a glove that the parent/reader puts on and as the book goes along "the tickle monster" tickles the child in certain places. It was very cute and used phrases that we use with young children, such as, footsies. I think children would like with even with out the glove.

I read this book with Megan at a boutique. I totally had to refrain from buying it, because it was so darn cute and I really did want it. I can just imagine reading it to little nieces and nephews and them laughing hysterically. If only I wasn't the only one in the house that still enjoys picture books.

Hmmm....this book was a dud for me. Love the color and illustrations, but the rest was pretty lame.

AND, this is clearly a book that should be read only by parents to their OWN children....interesting concept. Made me wonder where the story was going on each turn of the page.

Here's another one where my rating is quite different from everyone else's.

I liked the illustrations but come on. "Here let me prove it--holy moly kind kitties, The next place to tickle is your under-arm pitties"?

Or is it because I'm not a parent?

I'm usually not a fan of books written by celebrity authors but this was a fun read. This books has lots of tickling...I mean bonding...time for parent and child. The rhyming text doesn't always work but won't distract from the read aloud experience.

How cute is this book? Extremely.

This is a GREAT book to read to your little one and have them giggling at the same time. What is better than reading to a little one, having them giggle, and getting tickled at the same time? Almost nothing.

I definitely would use this book with a student who is having a rough day. I'd set some time aside to read with a student to read with a student who seems angry or sad as it would help them to at the very least, get them to smile!
Kira Richardson
Fun pictures and cute story about a tickle monster from a different planet! I liked the story but can't really think of an lessons I would immediately tie it to. I think that maybe this would be a nice story to act out with drama though.

I didn't like the text of this book, which seemed mediocre, but my 3 year old granddaughter, Emma adores it. We read it several times in a row, and took turns wearing the Tickle Monster gloves that came with it.
Jamie
Really liked this book. Fun rhymes and it goes over body parts, so it's good to read to preschool kids or toddlers. You can interact with them by tickling them. There's a glove that is sold separately that apparently is a "MUST"... I did just fine without it and while I think it's a cute idea to make your hand into the Tickle Monster's hand, I don't think it is a "must".

This is not MY favorite book, but it has been requested as the bed time story for the past few nights, so it is an obvious hit in our house. It is very interactive, which is why I think they like it so much.
Beth
The concept is very cute but the rhyme feels clunky leaving the story to fall flat. There is entirely too much text for the intended audience and even I lost interest. However, the illustrations were adorable!
Cindi
Kind of cute, but I didn't care for it much. Maybe my husband would relate more to it since he's the tickle monster in our house! I wasn't even inspired enough by it to read it to the kids.
Kendra
Cute, but not my favorite book ever. The rhymes were pretty forced which would make it hard to read out loud, even one on one. But it's a tickle book and there's really nothing wrong with that!
Jennifer Bonstein
Very cute rhyming book except my mom has ruined it for me when the story attempts to rhyme a body part with the word KITTY she has me thinking of the obvious. So now I just giggle when I read it.
Amie
I usually don't put the books that I read to my kids on my list, but this is a fun read for kids. Thomas wanted this read to him a couple of times in one sitting. Cute interactive story!
Ann
I thought this book was great. It got all of us involved in the story. My children would anticipate where the monster was going to tickle next and call it out. It really got them laughing.
Corrie
The illustrations are cute, but it has limited use and the rhymes are a bit too forced. I could see it being fun to use within the family because it gravitates towards active participation :)
Sarah Eastman
My kids favorite book!! I am excited she just came out with a new book called Boogie Monster...Santa will be picking that one up for my boys for Christmas!! :-)
Vicki
If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! This book fills your home with genuine laughter - nothing better than a child's giggle. This will do it!
Brittany
My daughter and I love this book.
The illustrations are adorable and the story is simple, interactive, and cute. Definitely a new favorite!
Kendra
We really liked it! You know how I love happy, interactive, silly books - especially ones with beautiful illustrations. I highly recommend it. :)
Lauren
This book is so much fun to read to my boys! I love that they giggle so much when I tickle them just like the Tickle Monster!
Kristi Bernard
This is one of my favorite stories to read. I laugh out loud everytime I read it. The little monster is just funny and fun!
Emma
I'm baby-sitting a 2-year-old, and she absolutely loves the interactive tickling that goes along with this book.
