It was definitely a very fast read. I was able to get this done very quickly, and found it extremely hard to put down. Although I felt the Christianity beliefs really came out, I don't feel it took away from the story. It was nice to escape to a place I had never been as well, and even though the dialogue was a bit corny, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think Ms. Brand really painted the picture of the ranch Kennedy was on beautifully, although I somewhat wish she expanded on the small town life a bi ...more

Cute story about a city girl who inherits a ranch and the cowhand who doesn't know if he should trust her motives... and the trouble they stumble into.

I struggled to stay involved in this one, because there were many things my inner editor kept catching. The whole time I kept telling it to be quiet, but sometimes it doesn't listen very well. For readers who don't work as copyeditors, this story would be delightful. I hope to try another of Irene Brand's books soon.

This is more of a 31/2 stars but since that isn't an option I want with four.

Kennedy Blaine was born on the Cross C Ranch, which has been in the family for generations, but she hasn't returned to Nebraska since she was an infant. Her Blaine relatives had visited them in CA but her mother's family, The Morgans, carried a grudge and never have. When her father dies unexpectedly she inherits the ranch along with the rest of his considerable wealth. Her cousin, the accountant in charge of the books

This was perhaps the best Love Finds You I have read to date. With solid characters, and interesting storyline with several subplots, this book kept my attention from start to finish. Good clean romance, a little bit of mystery, and constant dependency on faith definitely made this an excellent read.

This is the worst book I have ever read, and I read all the Twilights. I got it as a gag gift for my cousin who lives in Valentine, and decided to read it before giving it to her. I will still give it to her, but I will definitely warn her about the ridiculousness of the love story, which happens over the course of JUST ONE SUMMER. I will also warn her about the completely offensive views about adoption and a person's self-worth. I will warn her that the main character is completely flighty, but ...more

It seems like every month I turn to this series for a book to fulfill a challenge, and often times, I'm re-reading them after a long absence. This one is no exception, and I was in the habit of making notes about the books in the series. The note on this book simply said "Not bad-Modern Western." After reading it this time around, I intend to be a bit more thorough! It was a decent way to spend a Sunday afternoon, but there were times where I found my interest waning a bit. The religious aspect ...more

After Kennedy Blaine's father dies, she discovers that she has inherited her family's ancestral ranch in Valentine, Nebraska. She decides to see it for herself before she agrees to put it up for sell, even though there is already a buyer waiting in the wings. When Kennedy travels to Valentine to look over the ranch, she meets Derek Sterling, the ranch foreman, and his mother June. When she sees her family's historical home, she falls in love with it and decides to stay through the summer before ...more

What a read? This book is one you will read in two to three days. You won't be able to lay it down. Kennedy Blaine inherits her family's ranch after her Dad passes away. She has not been in the home since she was very small. She lives in California and travels to Nebraska to see the ranch and why her Mother loved it so.
You learn about family fueds and how they divide families. Also there is a story about Derek who was adopted and then abandoned and left in Chicago, Il. He runs into trouble with

This is only my 3rd Christian Fiction book, so I'm just getting used to the style. I have to say that although this one got "preachy" at times, it was done in a way that didn't detract from the style, which I enjoyed. I think I would have enjoyed this more also if I was a fan of contemporary romance, which I'm not really. I'll take a historical romance any day, but contemporary is not really my thing.

The other thing that bugged me was the varying pace. They would spend a whole chapter talking a

Just loved this story...Such a poetic book about how love triumphs...This story starts out with a significant loss to the main character that takes her on a journey back to her birth place after the death of her father. There she finds the home and the ranch beautiful. She meets a "cowhand" that comes to her rescue many times as she had been receiving threats to her life from another man who is an attorney and was representing her father's interest in the ranch.. This story takes place in a smal ...more

I know a lot of people on good reads didn't like this book too much, or thought it to be average, but I absolutely loved this book. I have been known for loving the books that other people didn't like, but I don't know why you wouldn't like this one. The story line drew me in so well that I finished the book in one day. It's an easy read, but I really enjoyed the story.

A wonderful love story

A humbled rich girl meets a poor cowhand who manages the hugh ranch she has inherited. They fall in love and fight it because of their financial difference. There is love, friendship, family, excitement and the strong love of God. I really liked this book. It was hard to put down.

I've read a few Love Finds You books now so far (maybe 8 or so). This was my least favorite of them. It is a modern-day tale about a woman named Kennedy who inherited a ranch in Nebraska after her parents both passed. She had lived in California for quite some time and wanted to connect with family, and avoid family that had caused problems in the past as well. While there, she meets Derek, a "cowhand" (manager of the ranch). Threats appear about the farm when she decides whether or not to sell ...more

book was full of too many fripperies, idioms, and common phrases to like. it felt like the author was trying too hard to show off her writing abilities or memory.

What to say...what to say.

This book has many elements that I really like. I loved that the main characters came from completely opposite ends of the spectrum. Kennedy, growing up with everything she needed but what she really wanted, a loving extended family and Derek, growing up with such wonderful "parents" but having the stains on adoption and rougher than normal Chicago living. The chemistry between the two throughout the whole book was tangible while reading. The book read like a movie, it

I enjoyed this book and looked forward to reading it at the end of each day. It is a sweet story about loneliness, forgiveness and the power of love. I also appreciate that it is "clean" and refers to scripture.

This was an interesting modern Christian romance. I really liked the characters, and the plot had a fun mystery element to it.

Once again, another book in this series that I love!

The story of Kennedy and Derek was a sweet one with a good looking cowboy/rancher as the hero. Plus, it was a good story of a man who loves his mother, June, who struggles with his own issues. Most everyone in this story is likable with a few exceptions. I especially loved Wilson, Derek's dog.
Jodi Stroup
Kennedy inherits a ranch from her parents and leaves LA to check it out. Her family has been estranged for years and there is a lot of fall out from all of the separation. Recommended for those who would like to consider going into reconciliation with family.

I doubt I'll read another book by this author. Her writing style appeared to me as choppy and not as professional as other authors. The story line was good, but I felt the male's character was too strong to accept what was given to him at the end.

So badly written, if I hadn't had to read it for work, I wouldn't have bothered. The dialogue is atrocious and the plot is just awful. I realize it's a Christian romance, but can't it be written well with well developed characters?

Cute read but never really felt the connection between Derek and Kennedy. It seemed a little forced. Also the book was wrapped up a little too nicely at the end. Derek's birth mom happened to be a guest at his wedding?! Geez.

I would give this one a 3 1/2 if that was possible. I liked it...it didn't draw me in like some books do but it was a good read. It did make me want to visit "Valentine, Nebraska" It sounds like my kind of town. ;)

For those who love romance shared in a spiritual manner with respect for relationships and God this is a wonderful book. Set in the Nebraska Sand Hills of my state makes it an enjoyable read.

The main character in this book was a little annoying to me. The story line had some pretty predictable parts to it and it had some unnecessary conflict. This was another one from my mom.
Ky
Stilted writing made this one less enjoyable than others in the series. The characters were forgettable, and most of the dialogue between the hero and heroine was very awkward.
