Since watching Scooby-Doo with my daughter many years ago I have always been a fan (I have a largish cut out in rubber on the wall of my landing!) so when I spotted this book I had to have it to give her as a present (just right for a 40-year-old). But I chose to read it first (value for money).

In this tale, Scooby-Doo and his pals from Mystery, Inc., Daphne, Shaggy, Velda and Fred, are invited to a party at a big museum in Cairo. The party was to announce a new exhibition, featuring the tomb an

For what it is, an entertaining read with some mildly amusing puns for the parent and, most admirably, more than one suspect.

Recommends it for: children starting to read graphic novels
We just love Scooby-doo and we borrow as many books and comic books as we can find. This is a fun mystery with an ancient Egyptian theme and a scary mummy, of course. This book was fun to read aloud, but I think it would be best suited for young elementary school-age children who enjoy reading comic books and graphic novels.

My weakness for Scooby-Doo is proven for my love for this short Scooby-Doo tale about a museum exhibit in Cairo disrupted by the mummified remains of King Shaggunkamen coming to life! But luckily, the Mystery Inc. gang is on the case!

Really, really cute!

For a Scooby-Doo mystery book, this one was pretty good. It gave three or four potential villains and eliminated them throughout the story. Like the cartoon, you weren't entirely sure until the end of the book.

Not the worst Scooby Doo book ever, although they're all extremely silly. We have a weakness for the Gang at our house.

Great book for teaching inferences! Follow the clues, characters' motives, and suspects to solve the crime. Can use the pictures as clues too. Love it for teaching inferencing in reading OR as a mentor text for writing mystery fiction.
