Kevin Smith
I downloaded this book as a freebie not expecting much. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be a great story that was very well written. The language may be a little offensive for some, but overall this is just a great book that will remind those who grew up watching the "B" westerns on Saturdays of how much fun a great shoot em up story can be.
Nathan Shumate
Given how inexplicably clumsy and awkward most western novels are, this rates toward the top end of the genre -- even though the setting was a generic western-novel town, the protagonist lurched between poles of inconsistent characterization, and supporting characters came and went at random.

I couldn't finish it. It was listed as historical fiction, and I guess it is...but I think I just DONT like westerns. I tried...I honestly did. I got about 40% in before I had to throw in the towel.

If you like westerns, you'll like this. I can't say I did, though...

Good story about an outlaw who will be pardoned if he spends a year as sheriff in a shoot-'em-up Texas town.
Skeeter Jorgensen
despite all the bad language, this was a pretty good book. I do like westerns.
