Brian W. Smith has a great writing style, but has a similar story like most urban fiction writers. I felt like I was reading another story about women plotting and manipulating men with money to marry them or to be financially secure. As well as many urban fiction writers tend to write about molestation happening to young girls by family members, sexual innuendos, and/or works in a strip club (or similar professions such as working in a brothel).
Ideally, most women are searching for stability...more

Quagmire
Larry Dennison and Nina Arcenaux have substantial things in common. Both lost the loves of their lives on the exact same date and they both have 8-year-old daughters in need of additional parents. More importantly, Larry is very successful with finances that can offer Nina the plush lifestyle she's always wanted to live. Admittedly, Larry knows that Nina doesn't love him, but it's his hope that she would learn to love him. At least she's appreciative for all that he's offered her. Howeve...more

When this dark secret is discovered there are so many twists and turns Nina takes to try to keep this from her husband. Not to mention she really is not in love with him but more so in love with what he can do for her. The plot made for a very good read. The...more
