First let me state that this book won't be for everybody. If you don't have the ability to suspend disbelief when you read a book, then this one isn't for you. Feminists, beware. First let me state that this book won't be for everybody. If you don't have the ability to suspend disbelief when you read a book, then this one isn't for you. Feminists, beware. This book has heroes that will make your blood boil, they are so darn macho, sexist, dominating, and often act like Neanderthals, yet somehow, someway, the author manages to pull it off and they do become likeable.

The heroes are three sexy brothers-- Chase, Slade, and Devin Davis--ranchers in a small southeastern Alabama town, ranging in age from late 20s to early 30s. Besides being ranchers, they are also members and founders of the Cattlemen's Club. The Cattlemen's Club is where men go to learn how to master their women, and women go to learn how to become slaves to their masters--and the Davis men are the teachers. It's all very lucrative--it's the small town's main source of income--but everyone is not aware of just what happens at the Cattlemen's Club.

One person out of the loop is 23 year old Patton Jones. Patton's like a sister to the Davis boys--she practically grew up with them, having lived with them since she was six years old. But Patton's been gone from Alabama for a few years, running her successful, sexy lingerie design business from Atlanta, and unaware that the Davis boys have recently found out what she's been up to. And they're not happy. They summon her home for a confrontation about the line of business she's in. The Davis boys have very conservative ideas about what they'd like Patton's life to be like. And being the model for her sexy lingerie business is not what they want for her. And despite having the hots for her since she was sixteen, they still think of her as a sister. They all love and adore her, and even though they harbor secret fantasies of sharing her and having a life with her, no way would they subject her to their perversions. She wouldn't want a life like that anyway, would she?

Are you kidding? Patton would love nothing better than to have a life with the Davis men. And yes, she loves them like brothers, but she loves them like men, too. Although not totally inexperienced, technically, she's a virgin, and she'd like all three of the Davis men to be her 'first'. She's aware of their sexual proclivities, having spied on them with other women, and although a little nervous about taking on all three of them, she's highly aroused with the thought. Now, how to convince them that it would be a good idea that they all get together?

Well, after lots of arguing, demands, tricks, and flat-out "no's", Patton finally gets her way, and the Davis men succumb to her charms. And the worries about taking on all three of the dominating Davis men? What worries--Patton takes to it like a duck to water! Heck, she doesn't mind being spanked, punished for 'disobeying', or used as a sex toy (or have sex toys used on her)! This is a fantasy come true for her, as it is for the Davis men. But what happens when they want her to obey not only in the bedroom, but in all aspects of her life? Can Patton live with that? Can Patton convince her men to learn to compromise? And can Patton tolerate her men being involved in the Cattlemen's Club?

Well, there's no question that certain parts of this book were way hot! But darn, those Davis men (especially oldest brother Chase) sure tried my patience at times. He was like a throw-back to another era. An era where women were only good for the bedroom and kitchen. But to the author's credit, at least Patton was feisty and stubborn, and didn't put up with his crap. She continually challenged his dominance (outside the bedroom), and I think that's what made her so intriguing to him. Chase loved that about Patton, because he wasn't used to a woman challenging his authority. There were lots of kinky sex acts in this book (including spanking, bondage, sex toys, four-somes, anal, lots of oral, and the whole master/slave thing), so if that kind of thing disturbs you, then this is definitely not the book for you. To be honest, at times I wanted to just give up on the book, because Chase and his Neanderthal ways were bugging me. But I wanted to find out exactly what was going on at the Cattlemen's club, which wasn't totally revealed until near the end of the book, and I also wanted to see if this foursome could work things out. For the most part I liked Patton, and I liked youngest brother Devin and middle brother Slade. And thankfully, Chase mellowed a little toward the end of the book. I also was intrigued with the possible pairing of Patton's girlfriend Hailey with either Cole or Kyle, two equally sexy 'Cattlemen' that Hailey claimed to despise, in a future book.

While this wasn't your typical romance, and probably not my favorite genre, it did keep me interested enough to keep reading. And while there were more than a few eye-rolling moments for me, I did like how the story developed, and I believed that the characters did love each other, which was important to me. Fans of menage and BDSM will probably love this book, for me, I didn't quite love it, but I liked it--3 1/2 stars.(less)

I didn't like any of the characters in this story, least of all the heroine. Though BDSM isn't a fav theme of mine in erotic romance, I didn't find it unsettling in the books I'd read in the past. In Patton's Way, though, the brother's side business of prostituting themselves did not sit well with me at all.

I compare my reaction to, say, Joey Hill's Ice Queen and its sequel, Mirror of My Soul, where both protaganists were Master & Mistress, training subs. I never felt icky over what they did...more

The sex in this book is absolutley hot once the brothers give in and claim Patton. I did get frustrated with Chase, who was just too arrogant and obnoxious. I admired Patton for standing her ground and not giving in when it came to how she wanted to be treated out of the bedroom. I think it's the first time Chase ever heard of the word "compromise".

I'm probably not giving this book a fair review with my (barely) 2 stars, but really I'm getting bored with that kind of stories.

I won't even mention how common has become the trop : 3 rough cowboy brothers lust after the same innocent girl, who happens to be somehow under their guardianship, but won't impose on her a ménage (because, yes, apparently all cowboy siblings always share their females) because they love her and she deserves better, so she's forced to act all slutty and playing with their barbarian lusty ways to convince them that a ménage is what she wants (what virgin wouldn't?) and have them change their minds. No, so far, I knew what was coming after having seen the cover, read the subtitle (cattleman's club is pretty obvious, isn't it?) and of course the résumé. It doesn't change the fact that the plot is rather transparent, but you know what they say, forewarned is forearmed...

What really bothered me was the characters.
The heroine, first, is a whiny, annoying brat, which is all the more annoying because she keeps claiming that she's a grown up. I've lost count of how many times she's pouted, whined, stormed in/out of a room, stomped a foot and pouted some more. She's innocent, we got it, but why on earth does she need to behave like a 6 years old? That didn't fit her description of a strong-willed woman, who created and manages her own business, rides a motorcycle, and doesn't blink an eye at posing for some risqué photos in her underwear to go all over the world wide web. It's really a pity to have introduced such a potentially good character and ruin everything with childish (and cliché) behaviour.

Pretty much the same can be said about the heroes _ the paradoxical reactions, not the childish attitude. Not that they don't behave like teenage boys ruled by their hormones _ they totally do, going around with a seemingly permanent hard-on (they even mention it becoming an exoskeleton, a rather weird image if you ask me O_o). No, what was really strange is that those 3 experienced Doms (hell, they even founded a slave-training business!) will so willingly and rather naively accept being topped from the bottom. Also inconsistent with the characters description was the rather vanilla-sex. Yes, there was a bit of spanking and sex toys play, yes they are alpha males. But, given what we learn from them throughout the book, I kinda expected some rougher/kinkier stuff.

Despite the transparent plot and the inconsistencies in the characters, there was some good stuff in this book. I liked the struggle inside the different characters, who try to find a way to go with their desires and not break the existing relationships between them. I also liked that the heroine didn't back down about going on with her business and managed to find a compromise.

That's why I know I'm making this book pay for my boredom with the genre in general, but really, some originality would have been more welcome. (less)

Not for everybody... Definitely erotica with 3 brothers lusting after a girl they helped raise. They don't want to 'soil' her with their brand of kinky dominance. She lusts back and tries many plots to break through their resistance. She eventually succeeds and a good time is had by all.

This book evoked strong emotions from the beginning. When I started reading this I couldn't decide if I was going to like it or not. In the end, I loved it - 3 stars for its escapism, suspend all disbelief, naughtiness; 1 extra star for being laugh out loud funny.

This has all of the overused elements- the 3 alpha "brothers", the sexy virgin "sister" (of course they aren't related); the ranch, the sex club started by the brothers; the burning desire for each other, yada yada yada.

A well-written book that is heavy on the sizzle and a great deal of BDSM, especially in light of the fact that The Cattleman's Club is a sex club that trains Doms and Submissives. Good read, lots of hot steam scenes in this one. It may have been a bit longer than it needed to be, but you really can't complain when you are getting your money's worth. I am not big on books where the female is the aggressor, and that was pretty much the case all through the book. The men are very dominant and in command, but she really had to scheme, plan, and pursue them through the book. This is the story of a woman who is in love with the three very overprotective men who helped raise her. They are too scared to unleash their hard-lovin ways on her because they see her as too innocent. Meh. At first I liked Patton, but then she turned into one of 'those' women. You know, those women that will crawl on their hands and knees for a man, give up friends and family for a man, give up personal freedoms for a man - and she did it for 3.

I liked the menage and I liked the sex, but the brothers' heavy-handed arrogance was completely frustrating. For me, the best part was the rip-roaring argument Patton has with one of the brothers towards the end of the book; it put a little more life into the story. Interesting that there would be a sex club in a small town that half its residents belonged to; I wonder if there really is a place like that out there in small town USA? 3.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. Jenny Penn did an excellent job of making sure the Davis brothers are their own characters and given their own time in the book. I liked Patton, too. She had the right amount of stubbornness and determination and though her schemes seemed totally crazy at times, it suited her.

The one point I had a problem with is that I don't think they resolved the issue of the fire at the end. I may have missed it but it seemed like it was left open-ended or unfinished. I am looking...more

I debated about buying this book for so long and then just did it. I was so happy I did. I loved it! Super hot and I read it every chance I could sneek away. I do have to make a note that it was really badly edited though.

I loved the characters, the story line and the only thing that I found a disappointment was that I am frantically searching for a Cattleman's Club book 2 and I cant seem to see one.

This was the book that got me started with Jenny Penn, and I was a goner from the beginning. I find that the book takes a while to get going, but once it does so it doesn't stop. The sex is delicious - just this side of dirty, and Ms Penn tries things other authors shy away from.

Will definitely be purchasing the next in the series. Great dialogue and steamy, hot sex with 3 alpha males!!! The great part of the book is Patton stood toe-to-toe with each of her men to fight for what she wanted and wasn't a doormat.

I think this is the best erotic novel I have ever read. It was sexy as hell, it had tension and story development. I was on edge, loved it, chase Devin and slade were delicious doms. Loved it all. Can't wait to read haileys story.

Jenny Penn writes hot stories. Patton's way had turned me on big time. Her sense of humour shines through this book. Patton is quite the little brat. She deserves more punishment, that's for sure. I love the three brothers. This was a first for me when it came to a stable relationship with three men and one woman. I didn't think it would appeal to me, but boy was I wrong. Ms. Penn needs to write a bit faster. Love her books.
